eBay kids bundles, any tips?

Just browsing for Dd for next year on eBay. Quite happy to get as much second hand as I can.

Searching bundles. One is at £93.25. One photo, looks a fair amount but can't see why it's gone that high. Others are around £20ish.

Who is good at this? Am I better to wait and bid last minute? Is it actually easier to buy individual items.

I've bought two lots previously, one great, one awful.

Just wondered if anyone had any tips on best way to go about it.

It will have some designer in demand bits in. Always wait til the last second to bid or you'll end up in a bidding war.

Oh really? BlushI bid today for one ending next week. Shit.

Just seem to be going through tonnes of stuff a day, especially when at nursery and makes sense to pick up what I can second hand.

I love eBay, save a fortune on my girls riding stuff as it's so pricey. Making an early bid means someone else is likely to be the one sneaking in at the last minute but it will get bumped up of more than one person does early bids too. I always watch things then bid at 3 seconds. Just make sure you bit the most your prepared to pay as it's annoying when you miss something by 5p that you really wanted and don't have time to re bid

Some people recommend using a sniper software (bids for you at the last second)

I agree, always wait until the last minute. Think of it this way, if your maximum bid is £10, and you bid £10 a week before it finishes. Someone comes along and bids £5, they see they haven’t beaten yours so they then bid £10, you’re still in the lead so they bid £15. Now you’ve either lost the item or you have to go higher.
If you wait until the last minute, that person who bid £5 will bid and move on, as they have the highest bid. You can then sneak in with your £10 bid with just a few minutes to go, and win.

Obviously that’s a very rough example, but do you see what I mean?

Thanks all that's helpful.

Certainly enjoying looking at the moment.

So many nice things with plenty wear in them.

Yes riding stuff a good idea as well.

It's funny because I had a couple of jojo party type dresses she had never worn and mum sold them and they only went for 50p. Still selling at £30. Yet when I look everything seems higher.

Wondered if there were secrets to finding stuff I am missing. Practice maybe.

Set an alarm on your phone for a few minutes before the end of the auction. Put your very highest bid in and click through to the confirm bid screen. When there is about 6 seconds left, make your bid! You won't have time to make another bid so make sure it is the absolute highest you're prepared to pay.

Bundles that include boden, joules etc tend to go for more. If that doesn't bother you go for the cheaper bundles.

I've bought most of my Dcs every day clothes via bundles on ebay, you can do very well out of them. The other place worth looking is facebook market place, I tend to find bigger bundles on there but there is the issue of having to collect so it may not suit at the moment.

You can save a search and look at it everyday on the newest items listed bit. I have a few searches.
For instance girls 5-6 years
Then in that search click all the brand's you want to see, Monsoon,Mothercare, Gap.
Then save it by pressing the heart icon usually in the left hand corner.
Then everyday look in saved searches, newly added or ending soonest that's how I do it.
Also worth looking for 5-6 girls BNWT (brand new with tags)

Try Facebook preloved groups. Again can be hit and miss, but at least it's usually set prices. Just type in pre-loved girls or JoJo or whatever in the search bar, there's tons.

As for how to find stiff thats still in good condition, I tend to look for photographs which have individual photos for item, and items which are ironed are normally a good sign.

icedaisy · 25/06/2020 15:42

Brilliant tips. Thanks so much.

Yes to the ironed, and I don't iron! But some of the piles are heaped on the floor and I can't see what's what.

I got an amazing Facebook bundle last year and was absolutely delighted with it.

New hobby during lock down anyway, buying next years clothes.
