Late twenties, I’m 32 now, I have quite a bit of grey on my head, its generally only the sides at the minute and the hair is the same texture, I also have some in my beard, thankfully in the beard they are spread out rather than bunched in one place. My father was entirely grey by about 42, so it isn’t a surprise that I’m going grey fairly early.

I'm 39. No greys. My dad is 72 and no greys! My bro is 29 and very grey. So it really varies.

ExpletiveDelighted · 25/06/2020 10:33

Started at 30. Early 50s now and still just pulling odd ones out.

bloodywhitecat · 25/06/2020 10:34

I'm 56, I have a few grey hairs underneath on both sides but nowhere near enough to make me want to hide them with dye, they are not visible unless I life my hair up.

Bubbletrouble43 · 25/06/2020 10:35

About 21. Just a sprinkling at the front, immediately noticeable as I have black hair. I started dying straightaway. Interestingly in all pics of my grandma as a young woman she also had black hair with a white chunk at the front, which I now think looks quite stylish.

notso · 25/06/2020 10:47

I've been pulling out odd grey hairs for 26 years but still nowhere near grey.

xxKatie9806xx · 25/06/2020 10:50

34 and have so much grey I have to regularly dye it every few weeks. First spotted grey early twenties. It’s rubbish. Think I’ve had a stressful life, I did have twins at 25...coincidence I think not haha

blackteaplease · 25/06/2020 10:51

In my early 30s I had an odd one or two that I plucked out. I've been getting highlights since I turned 36. There are two badger stripes on my temples due to lockdown, I hate them.

Phillipa12 · 25/06/2020 10:54

I'm 44 and about 70% grey. I absolutely love it as I spent years dyeing it and then thought fuck it 18 months ago and embraced it instead.

moralminority · 25/06/2020 11:15

Found my first one last week, I'm 50

Itsallthedramamick · 25/06/2020 11:18

Mid 30s and have had 2 that have swiftly been pulled! DH is 29 and has loads on the sides. A good friend is 33 and almost completely grey!

lazylinguist · 25/06/2020 11:19

I'm late 40s and only have the odd one or two grey hairs. Not really visible as I have fair/light brown hair. My DM went grey pretty late too, but hers were more noticeable as she had very dark hair.

lastqueenofscotland · 25/06/2020 11:20

None. My mum only started getting them in her very late 50s, shes mid 60s now and still has very few. Fingers crossed the same for me

Lessstressedhemum · 25/06/2020 11:21

I got a few in my mid forties. I'm mid fifties now and have white at my temples but the rest is a very dark iron colour. I had extremely dark hair when I was young.
My brother and sister were both completely grey by 40.

Itsallthedramamick · 25/06/2020 11:21

Weirdly the 2 that I did have were very, very thick, coarse hair. But my normal hair is very fine

Pikachubaby · 25/06/2020 11:21

I have about 12 grey hairs on either side

Am 48

Thinking about when I need to start dying

Met a friend yesterday who said “I see you’ve been able to get hold of your usual hair dye” so I guess I can still sort of get away with it (wishful thinking Grin)

Bohomie · 25/06/2020 11:24

I'm 39, naturally blonde so they're harder to spot but I have noticed one or two lately poking through

bluebird243 · 25/06/2020 11:24

Didn't see any grey hair at all until I was 69. Now I'm 71 and it's starting to increase a fair bit. Even from a short distance though I still look dark haired.
My Grandmother was the same.

MsRinky · 25/06/2020 11:33

I'm 47 and about 1% grey.

eandz13 · 25/06/2020 12:03

My mum and nan started greying from 16, were fully grey by 18-20, my sister and I evidently caught the gene and have been mostly grey since our teens/early 20s. Strangely we all otherwise look quite young for our ages.

BogRollBOGOF · 25/06/2020 12:05

39, I think I have 5. I've noticed an isolated one at a time since about 32.

I plaited my hair in bunches a couple of days ago and found 2 at the temples and one cheeky bastard creeping out at the side.

My hair is very mixed leading to a naturally highlighted look, but the greys have a much thicker texture like my dark brown underside compared to my blonde on top.
I CBA to dye it, but that would depend on if it gets to a messy looking stage. Some people get a much nicer distribution of grey than others.

DH is moving from silver to white now in his late 40s, and just has a dark fringe left at the nape of his neck. A fairly even distribution of black to silver through his 30s and 40s has suited him.
