Any ideas for a socially distant garden party for Dds 9th birthday?

Dd is 9 in late July. Desperate for a party and just generally to see friends.

We have a large ish lawn area in the garden so I thought about 6 girls in total with chairs a meter apart. I was thinking of getting fish and chips so they all have own box, no party food etc. But what to do for activities??? Build a bear could be done individually while they chat but does anyone have any ideas for games that would work? Dd suggested "throw the parcel" but even then they'd all be touching the paper. I have OCD and this. Is. A. Minefield.

Just have a normal garden party. I'm pretty sure the other parents will be happy with that.

Games could include team Pictionary, ‘pub’ quiz, timed assault courses (so they can run and play but they’re not close). I’ll think of others.

We did a zoom party for dd1's 9th birthday earlier in lockdown - some of the same things would work socially distanced. I got everything each person would need ready before the party and delivered bags (but you could leave by their seats). Bingo worked well, and we did a quiz and a version of 20 questions. Then some craft activities, we did a scratch art bookmark, a charm bracelet and a pompom sloth, all of which I bought at Baker Ross.

Could you do a distanced water balloon fight/water pistols?

I'd buy hoola hoops. Can take them home instead of party bags.

Space them out. So fun games such as design a hat with a hoop. Have to throw a (soft!) ball through the hoops on heads and time.

Throwing water balloons.

Quiz. Perhaps the Disney songs ones - loads on you tube.

Can still play musical statues and bumps.

Could even play musical hoops if they walk around the outside and distance!

I'd make sandwich boxes for food.

Dancing competition. Even a hoola hoop competition!

Poundland has loads of cheap bat and balls. The Velcro ball games etc. Longest rally etc. Most amount of throws without dropping.

Perhaps set 2 teams and play for points?

What about a dressing up game. Each person has adult trousers, shirt and tie and socks and shoes. Dress in their own circle.

Having said all that I'd probably not worry if a small group of 5/6. Play parks are opening soon so think that ship may have sailed by then Wink

Maybe make your own jewellery, decorate your own cupcake with individual ingredients.

I would be prepared though for the girls to get excited and not socially distance / hand over presents.
