Quick straw poll: would you put sunscreen on your child at 4pm today?

We are off to the park with friend.

I’m absolutely religious about sunscreen between the hours of 11 and 3.

Would you slather her in spf 30 (which is all I’ve got) to be outdoors 4-6pm today?

I’m in two minds! It feels crazy given that by about 5pm surely the sun is nowhere near strong enough to cause damage?

But am I irresponsible to let her be out in the sun without it?!

Please give me your advice!

Meh.

This discussion invariably ends up with people using vitamin D as an excuse to ignore sun safety.

Yes, today I would. But not always after 4pm but my youngest is 11. If younger I would untIl about 6pm. But I am in the South East.

Maybe so but inaccuracies often discredit an argument! I agree that I'd apply sun screen

I wouldn't apply sun screen on a typical winter day as some choose to though (I'm not including in this ski type situations where UV is high)
