Current Government guidance says work from home if you can for office workers. Our business has asked 25% to go back, the business justification being that our CEO wants to get back to normal.
I've pushed back saying a) it goes against Government advice and b) I have no childcare as there's no school (now we have formed a bubble with my 69 yo DM so technically she could go there).
I can do my job completely and thoroughly from home, had great feedback from my LM about the job I'm doing so no performance issues.
Line Manager has again pushed for me to go in next week. I still don't agree with it, primarily for reason a above but I don't want to bring home the germs of c.300 people and pass them onto my daughter and mother. We're safe in our home and little market town where there's been no new COVID cases for 10 days.
My question is, are there any repercussions to me saying I won't go into the office? Can I be disciplined or anything? I hate being the problem employee but feel very strongly about this.
