My washing machine appears to be taking itself for a walk...

So far, it's bounced about 1/2 a foot towards my kitchen door Hmm

I wonder how much further it plans to go Grin

Dm had a top loader that did that. It used to bounce to the end of the electric cable and bounce there like a dog straining at the lead. We always wondered if it would pull a little bit harder one day and pull the plug out. It didn't.

That sounds like the bit you need!
If you are mechanically minded (and by the sound of it you're not - one never throws something away even if you don't know what it is.. there is a company called Espares who may have the part you are looking for, but depending on the age of the machine and the cost of spares it may be better to buy a new one or live with it walking about your home for a while and start saving... Smile

Heh, no, definitely not mechanically minded! It took me several weeks to admit that I couldn't fit the new rubber seal to the washer before last mind you

I'm optimistic it may be in the bag I put out yesterday, but do think it went with last Friday's bin collection. Tbf though, in the video I half watched, the man took quite a few bits off the washer he was repairing & I don't think I'd get it back together once I took it apart.

I'll try the local repair place tomorrow and see what they say but when my last one went, the entire insides needed replacing & it would have cost more than the machine did new Shock so I'll probably save for another one (and hopefully choose better this time than the last two!)

Ignore all of the above post , your washer has heard that social distancing has been reduced and it was going to go and meet up with your nighbours washer GrinGrin

I'd ask on a local Facebook groups for a recommendation of a local independent repair shop. But then I am shit at fixing stuff..

A call out charge can easily be £80 if they then start replacing parts you can soon 8exceed the price of a new machine. It does depend how old a machine is but unfortunately these days the cost of repair is often uneconomic. Sad
