Corneal specialist

We have an appointment with a corneal specialist about my 4 year old. He has a cloudy patch on one eye and is very very light sensitive. We've not really been given much information on what happens at the initial appointment or what it could be, this same eye is also lazy and wanders too the outside.
Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and could shed some light on what will/may happen? Thank you

My dd1 had corneal scarring picked up from a viral infection. Permanently damaged her sight I'm afraid but only picked up at school screening test as the vision in her other eye is perfect so she compensates.

So a veteran of the kids eye hospital. Typical visit would be basic eye check from the nurse. She never had to have drops but some do. We'd see the consultant who would have a good look and do some more tests (looking at shapes etc). Sometimes we'd be sent down for images to check progress of her scar and to check it was dormant.

We'd go and see the ophthalmologist quite often too. Dd had patch therapy to try and make her eye stronger- was never going to be a cure but improved things a bit so was worth it. We saw them every 6 months from 4 - 8 when they discharged her as it was dormant and was t going to meaningfully improve.

I'd say lots of waiting around. Lots of patience and distraction needed. Nothing hurts them but staying still for images etc is difficult. Staff are all brilliant and know how to manage the kids as you would expect. Dds consultant used to check her reading progress with her as he got her to read out different letters.

Dd doesn't even notice now btw and she's 10. She has glasses she wears sometimes, at school for board work mostly or if she gets tired. She'll never be a fighter pilot but frankly that's a relief as she'd forget where she parked the plane.

Thank you so much! That's actually really reassured me as I went onto Google and read some horror stories!
