What age do children tend to grow out of Frozen?

Hello!

Right, I know this is impossible to predict accurately, but approximately and obviously just based on your experience, when do children tend to go off Frozen please?

My dd is 5, but will be 6, just before Christmas. I am starting some Christmas shopping now, (yes, I know it's quite early Blush), and all she wants is Frozen 2 stuff. If I buy it now though, the worry is, she will be off it by Christmas... She will be in year 1 from September.

I imagine you will still be ok!

Rockbird · 21/06/2020 12:25

My 12yo still likes it though I've sworn never to tell a soul...

LadyPrigsbottom · 21/06/2020 12:28

I still love it and I'm 36 Grin! I reckon we might get one more year out of it... maybe DS will like it and he's only 2, so he might get use out of it too.

DS(10) and DD(8) are watching it now!

CupofHorlicks · 21/06/2020 12:57

My 8 year old still loves it, will be 9 soon.

LochJessMonster · 21/06/2020 12:59

28 and love it Grin

My daughter's 5 and only just started liking other princesses. Shes been obsessed with frozen for the past 3 years!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 21/06/2020 13:20

I would check to see if there are any other films due out before Christmas... Children can be very fickle with their Princesses.

reluctantbrit · 21/06/2020 13:33

My friend's younger DD is 7 and very much into Disney. I think she will be ok for another year or so.

Another girl, turned 9 recently, never really liked the merchandise, she likes the movies but wouldn't play make belief.

But do check about upcoming releases, not only cinema but also Disney+. Nothing is worse than everyone else bringing the newest princess stuff back to school after Christmas and not the boring old ones. I would put some money aside and shop in October/November for these gifts.

LadyPrigsbottom · 21/06/2020 13:37

@Aroundtheworldin80moves, that's a really good point! I've googled and the only thing I can see is the live action Mulan. She loves the cartoon already, but she doesn't really like any of the live action versions yet. She went watch the live action Aladdin or Beauty and The Beast. So think I'm safe 🤞.

I've bought a few bits for her. One of the things is a dress up outfit. It's Anna's outfit from the beginning , where she sings with Some Things Never Change with Olaf. But it could honestly be any princess. It's just a very pretty dress. Also got her Frozen lego, which is maybe a bit more grown up than just Disney Princessy...

Thanks all Flowers.

my teens still like the films.
but would not admit to it to their friends.
my pre-teens still like it a lot and have pencil cases and other stuff that they treasure.

DontCallMeBaby · 21/06/2020 13:53

DD was 9 3/4 when it came out and never got into it (having been super into Disney princesses before). I guess with a child who liked it in the first place they’d probably like it beyond that age.

DH has the biggest soft spot for Frozen I this household Grin

Montsti · 21/06/2020 13:59

My 8 year old isn’t interested in it anymore (hasn’t been for a couple of years) but does still like watching the film...

My 5 year old still likes it at the moment...

Maybe get things that will be used and grown out of so pyjamas etc..I wouldn’t go out and buy loads of things as I would think that she won’t be that interested in a year or 2..

TheVanguardSix · 21/06/2020 14:35

DD became a minor fan at age 3-4 (not yet totally immersed at that age) but went into peak Frozen fandom from 5-6 (always wore an Elsa frock whenever possible!), then slowed it down around 7-8. She’s 10 and she absolutely loved Frozen 2! But she stopped wearing the dresses around 7 (around the house until 8).
She still has some Frozen bits and bobs that she cherishes.

LadyPrigsbottom · 21/06/2020 14:48

Hopefully dd is following the same sort of trajectory as yours vanguard. If this is peak Frozen now, and it lasts till she's seven, but then she still plays with it occasionally, that would be fine. I will hedge my bets a bit and get some other things obviously, but I'm keen to get cracking this year. Normally, I am a lot less organised!
