Does this Universal Credit claim seem right to you? Seems off

I'm a mum of with a DC of 2 years who recieves DLA standard care. Living with family but waiting to bid on a property which I'll hopefully get since I'm near top of list now from what it seems.

Universal credit entitles me to £650 a month? Is that right? It was currently

Sorry, it was about £500 with tax credits. Seems off to me because I'm not living in my own place yet and don't have rents to pay etc that would make it go up.

I've done a calculator for when I get my own place and I'll be entitled to even more on top of the £650 when thzt happens.

Is that right? I'm petrified of over payments. I really am. Universal credit aren't helpful on the phone and say its right.

I thought I'd be worse off so I'm very suspicious.

I work 18 hours a week, roughly £9500 a year

If you are over 25 You should get:

Standard element: 409.89
Child element: 235.83
Disabled child element: at least 128.25 (490.29 if kid gets higher rate DLA)

Plus if your kid gets either muddle rate or higher rate care DLA a Carer element of 162.92

You’ll qualify for the higher work allowance of £512 because you don’t claim housing costs. Then lose 63p for each pound of earnings you get over the work allowance

I find UC better than tax credits it terms of no over payments as it's done via a month by month basis so if you're income changes goes down or up the payment is altered to reflect that. I found it better as I had an overpayment previously with tax credit which is now repaid. I think it would be unlikely for this to happen with UC.

Sounds like you may not have the carers element added ?

Child disability element on UC is less than on tax credits for middle rate care, but you can get the carers element without claiming carers allowance on UC as long as your child is on at least middle rate care.
