I've had sleep problems since nearly 9m now. My main issue is I wake up feeling that I haven't slept a wink. I'd have gone to bed, closed my eyes for 8 hours and then wake up feeling exhausted with tired eyes. It's so bizarre.
I also wake up with a sore throat, Ive noticed that my mouth is sometimes wide open during sleep ( noticed when I've just

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam oh so your symptoms was that you couldn't breathe properly from your nose and your sleep is ok? Sorry just trying to work out how badly nasal obstructions affect sleep.

I used to work with Sleep Apnea patients, many of them slept through the night but woke feeling groggy and lethargic so your Gp was inaccurate thinking you have no symptoms. Is lower jaw smaller than your top jaw?

user1471462428 I have no idea if my lower jaw is smaller than my top one. This tongue pushing / mouth breathing is new to me. I have never done this before and have always breathes through my nose.

And yes, thanks I did think alot of people aren't aware of night wakings if they have sleep apnea.

I have had a permanent, plastic dilater put in through a private operation, due to my deviated septum. I saw the same consultant years ago and when he saw me again a coupe of years ago, he said that operations had advanced and he apologised for not being able to help me previously.

My breathing isn't perfect now but it's a lot better than it was.

I scored normal/high on the Epworth test but when I saw the specialist team I had a oxygen monitor overnight and it showed I was actually stopping breathing 70 times over the night. I had gotten so used to being tired it had become my normal.
One night on my Cpap and I felt amazing, it is well worth getting tested.

Sorry 70 times an hour that should have been

@vffvv My main symptom is that I cannot breathe through my nose...awake or asleep! The long term effects of this is that I now have a problem with gum disease.
My sleep is very poor, it tracks on my watch as being incredibly restless...I never go longer than 15-20 minutes of “restful” sleep. That said as part of my referral to ENT I have never once been questioned about my sleep/lack of it. I wake up tired every day, I don’t ever remember a time waking up feeling refreshed.
