MDE = my Disney experience app.
It's the app you will need to book access to parks if you plan to go in 2020 or 2021.... but you cannot currently buy 2020 tickets or 2021 tickets for after end of September.

We were meant to go in May. We booked everything separately. Our Disney park tickets have been extended till sept 2021 but right now we have nothing else booked but come July we will need to pre book park days just incase things improve and we can go! Ridiculous.

We were due to fly to NYC next weekend, the on to Washington DC followed by 2 weeks in Orlando, 1 week at Disney, 1 week at Universal. We were just saying tonight that it’ll likely be summer 2022 at the earliest before we can consider it again and I’m thinking that DD1 will be of an age by then that she might want to go away with friends rather than with us Sad

Very thankful to have already had some amazing family holidays in the US though. Hoping that we’ll be able to go somewhere else amazing in the world for a holiday next year.

YgritteSnow · 21/06/2020 00:06
  1. I think the US is going to take a very long time to recover from it's current turmoil sadly.
MumGoneCrazy · 21/06/2020 00:21

We have a week booked for October this year, it's been booked for over a year and are absolutely gutted as unsure what's happening as it hasn't been cancelled yet by holiday company. Luckily we haven't bought our park tickets, was hoping to find a good deal, so not out of money yet.

gaggiagirl · 21/06/2020 00:36

We've cancelled for September as Disney world cancelled the dining and a lot of the magic won't be happening for the foreseeable. Also it will be impossible to keep masks on our small children for a whole day in a park. We can't even keep hats on them never mind anything else.

I think we will book last minute at a point in time when things are looking better. I'm hoping that'll be 2021.

Chosennone · 21/06/2020 09:49

We are booked for August 2021. We have only paid the initial deposit. I have been putting away money each month and an to 'wait and see'. We booked with Tui and we haven't heard anything from them or been asked for more cash. Time will tell. I just can't work out how any of this is going to pan out.

BertieDrapper · 21/06/2020 21:56

@MumGoneCrazy you do know 2020
Tickets are no longer being sold?

They may go back on sale once they have a grasp of visitor levels once everyone has pre booked days. But obviously no guarantee.

Georgielovespie · 21/06/2020 23:14

Head on over to TheDibb Disney with a British accent. Full of information and even if your question has been asked a thousand times before no one says that they just answer your question.

Yes it covers universal studios and Islands of adventure plus all the hotels in and surrounding the parks.

Definitely leave it till 2022. Lots of people who couldn't go this year are probably going to go next year for the 50th anniversary. Plus free dining is hopefully back on, they had to withdraw it this year.

We have been several times and completely love it.

sweetkitty · 21/06/2020 23:32

We were supposed to be going next month now booking for 2021.

Geekster1963 · 21/06/2020 23:35
  1. We were supposed to go to California in April this year to have a bit of a tour round and then to stay with my brother and his family. We aren’t going to try and book for next year as we don’t know how things will be by then and are looking at 2022 depending on what happens.
MumGoneCrazy · 22/06/2020 00:01

@BertieDrapper is that for universal studios as well? We are not doing disney. Bit confused now as the website we got our last tickets from are still selling the 3 park ticket for 2020

wonderstuff · 22/06/2020 00:45

We were planning Aug 2021, but I'm going to wait until January before I book anything, its really not looking good at the moment. Thinking California might be a better bet, better climate for being outdoors in August.

Tumbleweed101 · 22/06/2020 06:09

Slightly different, but I was planning a trip to Montana next year but I’ve put that back to 2022 at the earliest. I’m going to see how things are middle of next year and how expensive flights etc become. Fortunately I’m planning to stay with friends out there so it’s only flights that need booking initially.

Lardlizard · 22/06/2020 07:29

We are aiming for Easter 2021 atm

We were originally going to go the end of this month with tui, so I’ve bumped it on till June next year, still not entirely sure that was the right thing to do, but I would have lost a 1k deposit if I’d have cancelled. I’m thinking of amending the holiday for next year to go to Greece for a week instead, and then look into Florida for the year after.

I’m really pleased I took out the insurance on the park tickets though, I only lost £40 on those, instead of a more hefty percentage.

BertieDrapper · 22/06/2020 09:15

@MumGoneCrazy
Oh no it's only Disney they have stopped selling.
As far as I'm aware everything else is still good! Fingers crossed your trip will go ahead. X

Dowser · 17/12/2020 09:30

I used to own a house in kissimmee. I wonder what life is like over there right now.
Are flights still going?
Are people still accepting bookings.
Most of my friends who had villas have long given them up.

PoptartPoptart · 17/12/2020 09:42

I’d say 2023 actually.
2021 is too risky in terms of Covid restrictions and the whole election / economic situation.
2022 I think it will be crazy busy as everyone who has postponed and doesn’t want to risk next year will go then.

ChristmasUserName2020 · 17/12/2020 09:57

Fortunately for us we weren’t planning on going until 2023 as it’s my 40th then. If I was going this year though I’d have left it until 2022 at the earliest and even then left it until a last minute booking.

OrigamiOwl · 17/12/2020 10:22

We're hoping to go October/November 2021... Haven't booked anything yet, just waiting to see what happens.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 17/12/2020 11:04

2022

And if you are planning universal then the hotels that allow you to skip the queue are best...so not cabana bay

You may have already seen that though 🙂
