Bamboo root barrier membrane/plastic? Where can I buy this quickly to pacify my neighbour as our bamboos are spreading?

I'm replacing the fence between me an my neighbour which has been damaged partly by bamboo spreading from my garden to theirs.
They want me to try and stop this which is understandable.
I'm going to cut it back but want to put in a root barrier to stop it spreading again.
I need it quickly as I'm doing the fences this weekend.
B&Q have this www.diy.com/departments/verve-heavy-duty-root-barrier-w-600mm-l-2500mm/1849802_BQ.prd but it feels very light and flimsy.
Is there anywhere else I could get something heavier?
Thanks

I've no idea I'm afraid, but we just had to get rid of TONS of bamboo which the previous owners of our house had let run wild, and we had to dig down two feet in some places to get it all up. And it's still growing through the garden wall and is coming up through the pavement and road next to our garden. The stuff is an absolute nightmare.

Good luck stopping it spreding!

Thick butyl pond liner will work but you need to reinforce it, or use concrete slabs. You can make your own in a bed of sand, they dont need to be pretty because they'll be buried.

It doesn't really work unless it's put in before the bamboo is planted, and the stuff you have linked to wouldn't be strong enough for bamboo anyway. Cutting the top will just mean it spreads more underground. The only way to control it is to dig a massive ditch (a couple of feet deep at least) and at least double line it with proper root liner - something like this - but that will only last a couple of years, if that.

If it's that invasive it's far better to have it in a pot. Or not at all.

Remember if it's invading your neighbours, it will also be spreading towards you, so expect it to push up under paths, patios and walls.

I found Cu-Tex, but it looks like its trade only; if you look for 'copper root control fabric' its available online.

It's the copper that reacts with the plant roots so any fabric with copper will do the job. I have seen tests where as soon as the plant senses (not sure how??) the copper the root immediately changes direction it's quite impressive.

So just driving a few lengths of copper water pipe into the ground could do the trick ?

But with bamboo the roots will just go somewhere else. So back towards the op's house (triffid like) or just down to Australia (through various pipes and sewers) Grin

Can you tell I don't much like bamboo?
