First world question- re hair appointments

Expecting first baby (ELCS) shortly. Have been self isolating since early March to stay safe. I know it sounds so trivial (!) but I really really want my hair done! (I have specialist extensions which are nearly destroyed and my hair needs a proper rescue). My specialist hairdresser is reopening in July with various safety measures.

Anyway, my questions are, how soon after a new baby might I feel ready to go to a hair salon appointment? DH is available to accompany and bring baby and go for a stroll with them so they are close by and I can feed if needed. How soon did new mums start doing things like this?

Also in terms of Covid, do you think it's safe?

I'd book ASAP op. My hairdresser has already moved my July appointment (booked in Feb, long before covid) to the middle of August, so you might be waiting a while anyway.

My ex dh didn't ever take the baby so he was a year old before I got a wet cut - if yours is going to be supportive I'd absolutely take him up on it!

Thank you! But would, say, 2 weeks after birth be a bit too soon or would this feel ok? First time mum so no idea how I'll feel or how hectic life will be...

OP I didn't have elcs so I can't advise on those lines, but at 2 weeks in (assuming you can get an appointment so soon) I didn't know which way was up! It stayed like that for 16 years and counting a while, having a nice treat would have done me the world of good, especially if your dh is willing to take baby out for a bit so you can enjoy your hairdo!

Haha, ok thank you! I reckon I'll try for 2/3 weeks after in that case!
