Need something to watch ! Stuck with ‘resting ‘ at home

I need some suggestions ! Having spent the last two days hospitalised with diverticulitis , I’ve been sent home with some hefty antibiotics and a direct order from the consultant to properly rest at home and do essentially nothing for the next few days . A few hours in and it transpires that I am completely crap at it . I’m all Kindled out , my iPad games are boring me and I’m lacking inspiration on something to watch . So. Has anyone got any suggestions I might not have thought of ? I like crime dramas as long as not too gritty / gratuitous violence - think Foyles war type stuff , but also love the Wire , NCIS etc . Don’t mind costume drama , but fantasy leaves me cold . Have Netflix , Sky , prime etc , so could be on anything . Oh and nothing that might make me really laugh , because that really bloody hurts . So , oh wise ones , hit me with your thought before I manage to watch all of the ‘Caught in Providence ‘ videos .

Thanks ,

get well soon! I enjoyed Good Girls (netflix), Great News (netflix), The Nest (BBC iPlayer) Flowers

Normal People (BBC Iplayer) frustrating love story but you will be crying possibly. And they are in and out of bed a lot. Shock

Agatha Raisen? Marvellous Mrs Maisel. Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.

3096 Days on Netflix is good. It's the story of Natscha Kampushh so it's quite grim but really well done I thought. The Innocence Files is also good.

For light heartedness I like Brooklyn 99 and Modern Family which are on Netflix and of course Queer Eye.

There is also a series o Prime called The Last Man on Earth - we have watched the first 4 or 5 and it is quite funny although the main character gets quite annoying pretty quickly!

Hope you feel better soon.

I'm working my way through the Inspector Lynley mysteries on Sky (possibly ITV3). I remember one or two of them but not all of them - possibly down to my menopausal brain forgetting everything or I may not have seen episodes when they were aired first time round. ITV3 has also got many, many Marples and Poirots and lots of Inspector Morse and Lewis episodes.

If you don't mind grainy YouTube videos then there are a few Lord Peter Wimseys to watch. I often use YouTube to listen to audiobooks too.

Try the Alibi channel for period mystery dramas. There are currently episodes of The Murdoch Mysteries set in very late 19th and early 20th century Canada and Miss Scarlett and the Duke set in Victorian London.

Also hooked on The Repair Shop and GBBO The Professionals.

We missed Parks & Rec when it first came out so have been watching that - the first season was ok, mainly just setting up the characters but the second one is brilliant so far. It's funny but not laugh out loud, if that makes sense - more like the Office.

Unorthodox and Shteisl on Netflix

Loads on iPlayer: Twin, McMafia, Strike, Wisting, Father Brown, the Young Montalbano, Sherlock, Live on Mars/Ashes to Ashes

Defending Jacob is brilliant.
The Affair if you've not seen it yet.. there are quite a few seasons of it.

Spooks on BBC iplayer - we have been gripped through all ten series!
