Does anyone have any recommendations please? Baby is 2 months old and has a visual impairment but definitely responds to light and shade so I am looking for things to stimulate them.

My dc had a Lullaby Light Show. Saw a celebrity mention it just yesterday so it must still be around - think it's Fisher Price..

Blushomg just Googled and that one is classed as vintage!! Just wow!! Lots of similar ones available though!!
Hope you find something your baby can enjoy...

I bought some flashing water activated rubber animal toys from Amazon for my little boy who has ASD, they are good.

We invested in a dark den for our visually impaired child. They are basically a blacked out tent and you can use them as a sensory room. You can get sets of toys to go with them or just buy your own. There are lovely star projector domes that are not expensive at all and at Christmas places like The Works have lots of light up spinners that are dirt cheap. I stock up on them to last the year.
What kind of VI is it ? Is it damage to the eyes or cortical visual impairment ( caused by brain not understanding the signals from the eyes which are working fine )? If it is the latter then as much stimulation as you can give is key. So lots of fixing and following and lights in dark room etc . Our son has made massive strides over the years with his vision . If it is CVI then there is a good book called Little Bear Sees that has lots of info and good ideas x

will link a few items below x

light up ball- recommended for ages 9m+ because it teaches dc colours, but your dc might enjoy just holding it and watching it light up

light up pyramid- the light changes colours when the pyramid is touched

sensory pod, you would put a chair like this inside along with a colour projector like this

Thank you all. I have bought the light up pyramid for him and will get him a dark den with projectors along with some light spinners soon. His VI is damage to the eyes themselves.
