BBQ Food

Having a BBQ for a couple of friends soon. They have said that they "only" like burgers and sausages on a BBQ, and not stuff like steak, chicken etc, even though they do eat those foods at home and in restaurants.
So, where do I get the best quality, nicest burgers and sausages? And what would you serve with them? Are there any other similar type meat products for some variety?
Thank you.

The M&S range is good with plain and other flavours available. Sounds like if that's all they would eat so I would only do what you like for any extra meat or fish.

In terms of what to serve with, I usually do baked potatoes and salads. Tomato & mozzarella. Beetroot, feta and red onion with sweet potato if I can be bothered. Maybe some pesto pasta salad too. Also some sweet corn either on the cob finished on the bbq or just lightly fried in a pan with some chilli.

And also a crusty baguette but if you're doing buns with the burgers and sausages I wouldn't bother!

Also the halloumi from the M&S bbq range is good, flavoured with either pesto or chilli

We tend to go over the top for bbqs but one of the nicest I was at last year was hot dogs, burgers and teriyaki chicken with one green salad. Simple and delicious!

They're worried about you undercooking it I suppose?

I'd add other stuff anyway and they'll eat it. Halloumi and cherry tomato skewers are the best.

Pork steaks in marinade. Potato salad, got to be homemade.

King prawn and pineapple skewers.

Burger station with every variety of topping you could want Grin

If the issue is under cooked meat, we usually put everything in the oven at 80-100°C with a dish of water after BBQ.

DH is a bit ott and likes to have a sit down meal
Sides will be a lovely home made salads, corn on the cob, new potatoes (halved and brushed with olive oil & nutmeg) and tzatziki, a selection of different breads (ciabatta, sourdough, ...)

Unless it’s an actual preference (don’t like fish) or allergy/intolerance they would be getting what I usually cook on a BBQ - which is not burgers and sausages
