Husband's birthday - impossible to buy for!

Husband is so difficult to buy for. I normally do clothes and chocolate. Made him do an Amazon wishlist and he added a flash drive and charging pad for his iphone.
He has no real hobbies except computer gaming. He doesn't read, drink coffee or alcohol. Doesn''t do sport or exercise due to a bad back and is not at all into personalised or sentimental gifts.
Any ideas??

I just got my husband a hammock for the garden which he loved.

My bf is really hard to buy for. I have bought him a trip somewhere special for after lockdown.

I got dh an Apple Watch for his birthday. He loves it and it does so much more than we knew

AnneBullen · 16/06/2020 22:40

Bought DH a cafetière and freshly ground coffee from Whittard for Father’s Day?

And a retro style print of his favourite film (Groundhog Day) from Red Candy for our anniversary.

Just in case either of those are helpful!

sharond101 · 16/06/2020 22:48

Thanks. He hates coffee AnneBllen and an Apple Watch is rather out of budget.

This year as holiday was cancelled I’ve brought him rugby shirts, a pair of cosyfeet boots and a really nice radio for the kitchen he really liked, he’s had a lot early but he doesn’t mind that awaiting the rugby shirts.

A flight simulator experience - surefire winner!

Growingboys · 16/06/2020 23:05

Steak knives?

Subscription to the London Sock Company?

Nice new dressing gown?

Elouera · 16/06/2020 23:11

Are there any foods he likes? I recently saw there is a marmite XO. I haven't tried it myself, but for a marmite lover, its something different I wouldn't normally thing of, and I'm planning to get my OH who also had a birthday coming up.

I've always loved experience things. Would he like a butchery course? Cooking class for something you/he like eating? 1hr flying
course/experience? Gliding?

Does he like the garden? New chair? Garden tools? Pressure washer? plants?

New BBQ? BBQ equipment? Sous vide? Mushroom growing kit? Ginger beer kit?

sharond101 · 16/06/2020 23:23

He isn't into cooking at all but does love eating. Paying more attention in the garden but has all he needs at present.

I bought my husband his first ever hoodie earlier this year (he's 59!). I could tell he thought it was an odd present- but he wears it all the time ! Particularly now he's working from home. So much so he asked me to get him a couple more!

Patsypie · 17/06/2020 00:18

Some gorgeous aftershave? If he likes food then a gourmet hamper?

DappledThings · 17/06/2020 07:46

I don't understand. You asked him to make a wishlist so he added two things to it. So aren't those the things he wants?

wafflyversatile · 17/06/2020 07:55

Does he care about receiving gifts? I much prefer no gift over shit I dont want or need.

Get him the things on his list and some luxurious food. Something you can both enjoy like the hammock or garden seat also a good idea.

petalpower · 17/06/2020 08:14

Is he into cheese? I buy from Pong cheese for my very tricky husband. You can either get a one off box or a cheese subscription for the year or 6 months. They are a great company to deal with too.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 17/06/2020 08:42

I bought mine a trail camera so he can film the wildlife in the garden, we discovered we have a hedge hog and as he feeds the birds and has nest boxes up he can set it to watch for activity at those.

sharond101 · 17/06/2020 12:56

Thank you. He hates cheese. Have bought the things on his list and will look into a garden seat. He has lots of hoodies, one of his favourite things. Wafflyversatile he doesn't really but I'd feel bad not getting him some gifts.
