Should I be worried? (chest related)

You know what it's like when you Google or use 111 online. Anything chest related suggests an ambulance.

I woke up about an hour ago unable to catch my breath. Acid came into my mouth making me want to vomit and I came out in a cold sweat.

That has all subsided and I'm left with a dull aching in my chest and intermittent pain in my jaw/arm.

My pulse was 98 and is now 66 and oxygen sats were 92 and are now 96.

Should I call 111 and risk being told to go to A&E potentially for nothing or does it sound like something I should be worried about?

I know I shouldn't be asking strangers on the Internet but I really can't bear the thought of being told to go to hospital in the current circumstances.

I don’t know anything about anything but do think you should call 111. They are better qualified and will be able to guide you. I hope you are okay.

You should ring 111 however as it's chest related they will probably send an ambulance anyway - I had a similar thing and they sent paramedics and I was sent to hospital for checks - when they came that said you should just ring 999 anyway because the call handlers from 111 are told anything chest related will be checked out. Hope you are feeling better xx

Thanks both, I just feel so stupid and I've managed to convince myself it's all in my head Hmm

Ginger, if you don't mind me asking, was it heart related?

Call 111 or go straight to A&E OP, it’s always best to get checked out with things like this xx

RyanBergarasTeeth · 16/06/2020 03:26

Dont bother with 111 just go straight to a and e. Chest pain combined with jaw pain is a concern thats best checked out.

HistoriaTrixie · 16/06/2020 03:27

dull ache in the chest and the jaw/arm pain make this something that needs to be looked at in A&E, I think, as does the minor drop in O2 saturation. At the very least call 111, but if they tell you you need A&E or an ambulance, please go.

MiniEggs234 · 16/06/2020 03:34

Definitely ring 111. Oxygen at 92 is low, even if it is higher now should get checked out especially as you're experiencing chest problems too. It could be nothing serious, but definitely important enough to get checked.

I would imagine they would send out an ambulance, and the paramedics would be in full PPE (although only one may come in and deal with you as it's chest related). They would normally run basic tests and decide what to do from there, but not sure if that is any different at the moment.

Obviously not ideal timing but I hope you're okay x

Ring 111 ASAP

Aclh13 · 16/06/2020 03:51

I'd call 111 and update us, I study biological science but this is unusual. Individuallly Id potentially say not to woory
But together seems more concerning potentially heart or major organ related x

How are you feeling OP, what you have described is very similar to how I started with Covid19 back in March.

Referred pain from my chest was going up to my jaw, side of face then shooting back down to my chest. I was in bed as well.

How have you felt the past week?
