Need a rough location!! The ones I would recommend are off limits at the moment unless you are local to them....

swallow falls (north wales)
Aber falls (north wales, I am from Aber and it’s is beautiful)
Grey Mares Tail (Scotland)

Enjoy (when you can!!)

The four waterfalls walk in the Brecon Beacons - you can walk under one of them! It’s closed at the moment though Sad

The ingleton waterfall walk in Yorkshire is lovely.

Some amazing ones all over the Lake District. Skelworth force isn’t nice.

As a kid I went to a great one where you could walk behind it. Wish I could remember where....May have been Wales. We went to Wales a lot.

Pistyll Rhaeadr - another Welsh one.

JacobReesMogadishu · 15/06/2020 20:14

Oh I’ve just seen Scrappy’s post and after googling I think it must have been the 4 waterfalls walk. It was amazing going behind it.

Swallow Falls in North Wales - used to go all of the time as a child

DonLewis · 15/06/2020 20:16

So many in Yorkshire. That's where I'd head. But Ingleton falls is a wonderful day out.

AdaColeman · 15/06/2020 20:24

Rhaeadr Ddu is very a easily accessible and lovely wooded walk. This dry summer isn’t the best time for waterfall walks though, they’re best done in late winter/early spring with a sturdy pair of wellingtons on!

VictoriaBun · 15/06/2020 20:26

Which ever one you decide to visit , be aware that they will be more dramatic when there has been a lot of rain . During very dry spells they will be much less .

ItsInTheShed · 15/06/2020 20:31

Ingleton were stunning!! so many waterfalls....i was only expecting one or two! must have been more than ten

trickofthetail1 · 15/06/2020 20:36

Water Breaks its Neck just over the Welsh Border can be very dramatic after heavy rain.

AdaColeman · 15/06/2020 20:53

Linhope Spout in the Breamish Valley is spectacular. Whereabouts in the country are you @Lardlizard?

littlemissminor · 15/06/2020 20:55

Brecon Beacon waterfall walk!

Lardlizard · 17/06/2020 11:50

Thanks for all these ideas I’ll be googling later I think a trip will help lock in the things the kids have been learning

If they are learning about how they are formed then maybe a smaller one they can get up close to might be better?
We have a lovely local one where I am and you can get right behind it and paddle in the pool at the bottom. Because it's only small it's totally safe.
