Put it safe and warm in a box with some water in a shed or similar.
Give it a few hours, it will either die or not

ScarfLadysBag · 14/06/2020 14:42

Can you put the box somewhere safe from your cats outside to let it fly away when recovered? If it's still shell-shocked put it in a quiet, dark room to recover for a while and then try putting it outside.

Solomi · 14/06/2020 14:50

Ok I've put it in a box with holes
in my room for now, I'll try and put it outside in a little while.

What a pretty little bird

BiarritzCrackers · 14/06/2020 15:01

It looks like a baby great tit - can you see any adults around? They might be looking for it. Birds can recover very quickly from window crashes, depends how hard it was.

GerundTheBehemoth · 14/06/2020 15:02

It's a baby Coal Tit. As long as it didn't hurt its neck in the collision it'll probably be OK to go after a rest.

countdowntonap · 14/06/2020 15:10

Does this help?
Lovely little bird

I live in a terrace house, no trees or nests around here, cant see any adults around.
Yes it's a gorgeous little thing. Good thing only the kitten was about, hes dopey as anything.
It was moving its neck around just fine, just seemed in shock.
I really hope it's ok

The ideal place would be somewhere outside and safe from cats, and ideally in the shade.

We've had a few baby birds stun themselves on our patio door in the past, they generally seem ok after a while.

Thelnebriati · 14/06/2020 15:17

Its stunned, it needs somewhere warm, dark and quiet to recover. If you put a towel in the bottom of a clean cardboard box that should do.

If you google for your nearest wildlife rehab or vet they should give you free advice, or suggest someone who can take it; but when it recovers it needs to be released where you found it.

HappyHammy · 14/06/2020 15:18

Is there a wildlife rescue centre near who can collect it if the adults are not around.

redskittleorangeskittle · 14/06/2020 15:22

How is he doing? Do you have a roof you can put him on that is safe from cats? The parents will be looking for him.

Solomi · 14/06/2020 15:30

I went back in the room and he sounded like he was trying to scramble out of the box. He looks nice and energetic now so I've brought him out, cats are locked away in inside for now.

Very fast he was too.

Excellent news!

GerundTheBehemoth · 14/06/2020 15:33

So glad to hear this!

Solomi · 14/06/2020 15:39

We are something of a wildlife shelter right now in our house as it is..
We have baby frogs ready to be released into the pond, we had a hedgehog wander in the back yard the other day and he couldn't get back out, a deer was spotted crossing the road near to us in the first month of lockdown.
not to my mention my dc who act like feral wild animals at the best of times.
Despite living in a very built up area I'm shocked at the amount of wildlife around here at the moment.
