Periods have changed - should I see a Dr?

Always regular cycle, 25-28 days. Would last for 6 days, spotting for first and last with day 3 being very heavy (having to change every 60-90 minutes) but OK at night generally and medium flow for the rest.

Last 3 months cycle has been slightly longer each time, 31/32/33 days. The bleeding has really changed though. I know have one day of spotting, then 24-48 hours of nothing. Then I will stand up and it's literally running out of me, as if I'm urinating blood from my vagina (sorry for tmi Blush). This will last for about an hour and then stop again. This will happen about 4/5 times over the course of 10 days.

What would cause a change like this? I'm in my 30s if that makes any difference

It can't hurt to ring and just talk to a doctor on the phone. I don't think they would have to see you in person for this.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Is it normal for your period to change or should I be worried?

Make a telephone appointment with your GP - you’ll worry about it if you don’t - much better to just ask the question

It doesn't sound normal @Dancemonkey19 so I think a gp appointment is your first step. I started having spotting in between my periods in my 30s to the point I was on more than off, and had several unexpected flooding incidents (the worst was away from home and had to go to m&s in a city I didn't know to buy new jeans, underwear and san pro and wipes which thankfully they were selling) Mine was due to polyps and once removed all was good. But, I still have really heavy periods which is now due to fibroids. Still waiting to get that sorted out.
It, go see your gp. While you are waiting for the appointment, make a diary and document what every day is like for you. It really helped my gp understand just what I was going through.
