How quickly would you expect a response from a teacher?

One of DS's teachers has suddenly started setting LOADS of work. It's all online, nothing he has to generate himself. Think a quiz type system. We're struggling to keep up with the sheer volume and I've asked the teacher to give me a call. I want to understand if this work is going to be covered again as it feels like he's trying to squeeze too much work in.

He's replied to say when he will be available for a chat. What do you think is an acceptable time to wait for a return call from a teacher?

I would expect a response within 24 hours with a time for a call within 2-7 days depending on which teacher/when I requested the call.

If he's full time then 48 hours. If he's part time then on his next working day. For example I'm a teacher and only work Mondays and Tuesdays.

I'd say a day or 2 for a response to an email, upto a week for a call, assuming FT.

Depends entirely on how busy the teacher is, is he in school as well as setting online work? He may well be struggling with his own circumstances at home too. I'd give him the benefit of doubt tbh. He has at least let you know when he's available.

Your question seems like something you could ask in an email though. So I would do that. If you have concerns about the answer, then maybe ask for a call. I would imagine several days response time would be normal for something that isn’t urgent. People are incredibly stretched at the moment.

Also if he replied to say when he is available, I think he is expecting you to select the time. Not that he will just randomly call you during that time.

Depends when he's in school, what days he works.
Also- some emails go to a central system, so have to be forwarded on.
