Ive just downloaded an ap called Birdsnet It analyses bird song and tells you want it can hear

I have a small garden and surrounded by very mature trees, so there is constant chatter of bird
Its picked up the robin, woodpecker ,crows wood pigeons, collared doves, blue tits, great tits ,magpies , etc that i can see
But it constantly picks up a chiffchaff which i have never seen in the garden, suspect they are high in the tree and wrens which i havent seen in a while..
Just found a longtailed tit who come and go from the garden.
Its a bit strange though it doesnt recognise the cockerals that 2 of my neighbours have.

Brilliant, thanks for this. I’ve been struggling to figure out what a particular bird I can hear is.

That's awesome, I hope when the weather clears a little the birds will be more vocal.

Thank you for the app suggestion. Just added it to my phone so I shall see what it picks up on my dog walk in a bit and also in the garden. I'm pretty sure my garden will just be sparrows, jackdaws, pigeons, doves, starlings and swifts. I did see a wren when we first moved here, and we have had goldfinches too.
