If you made a lifestyle change & didn’t diet..

What did you do? How do you feel?

I’ve started exercising daily and cut out junk including cakes and chocolate (I ate healthily but would snack on these everyday).

It’s been 4 weeks and I’ve had one or two treats like chocolate bar/biscuits once or twice a week.

I am filling myself up on healthy snacks and feel like I may be startling to make that “lifestyle change” where I don’t crave the junk anymore and feel so satisfied after a healthier snack. Before I would swap my snacks reluctantly but really crave and miss it.

I am filling myself up on healthy snacks

I’ve spent a couple of decades doing that over and over again.

Healthy snacks can be calorific, especially nuts or fruit & nut bars.

Finally after 2 years I’ve kept my weight off whilst still eating crisps, chocolate, drinking wine, eating all normal things...

By logging everything on My Fitness Pal.

I started by finding my tdee
tdeecalculator.net
Whatever your tdee is is, you reduce that calorie amount by 20% for weight loss.

Logging everything you eat on My Fitness Pal means you make better choices. Learning how many calories are in things is life changing.
You can make/buy a sandwich that has more calories than a weighed out and calorie controlled roast dinner.
I’ve eaten a (very tiny and & unfulfilling) slice of cake that had more calories than a ham roll, packet of crisps and a bit of chocolate!

StRt weighing and logging everything in My Fitness Pal or a similar app and see how much you are actually eating. 2,000 per day is only for fit active women not the average women it seems.

My main thing was cutting right down on carbs like pasta, rice Potatoes and bread and eating masses of veg. One meal a day will be a huge salad with beans and seeds (I’m veggie). If I make pasta and sauce for the family, I’ll just have the sauce. Also only 1 piece of fruit a day (I used to eat lots) and drink plenty of water. I still eat biscuits and a bit of cake if I fancy it, but now I’ve lost 11kg and am a normal BMI I don’t want to put it on again so that helps my will power!

There are so many variables, though, op in how you see what you eat.

I started running every day for over an hour but still I suspect I would've been able to out eat that exercise. I burn just over 700 cals with my running.bi don't eat much junk either. With my recent 3 stone weight loss I mainly focussed on portion size by tracking what I eat versus my exercise on FitBit.

The best way to find out how your diet rates is to track it. You can get details on macros and calories.
