So working from home has made me realise just how bored of my job I currently am and that at some point I need to start looking for my next move and I really want this to be something I’d actually enjoy.

Currently I work for a big global digital/creative agency winning new clients. These are huge deals with a standard sales cycle being up to a year long so although it’s exciting when you win a deal there’s often a very long and slow lead up to this. Day to day there’s a lot of prospecting, proposal writing, presentation creation etc.

All of my experience is in sales roles for digital companies with a little bit of recruitment although I do have a law degree but no interest in being a lawyer. I just have no interest in my role anymore, I’m not learning anything new and although I’m quite senior there’s a huge amount of pressure to be continually bringing in new leads which I’m just not motivated by anymore. I also manage one person but there’s zero management training where I am and this is something I’d really like to develop.

Ideally I’d love to do something in events/weddings as my real passion is organisation however I’m almost 30 and have zero experience in anything outside sales.

The other issue is salary. I’m currently on just over £50k with an average of £20k bonus. I’m under no illusion that if I’m going to do something new I’ll need to take a significant drop but we’re also looking at buying a house next year so I still need to retain a healthy base.

What might I enjoy and be qualified to do?

How about charity work?
Start off doing some voluntary work to test if it's a good fit, network and in time, make contacts across the industry.
With your law degree I imagine there would be openings across the sector.

Sorry I should have mentioned I actually have worked for a big national charity previously right at the beginning of my career and it just isn’t for me.

I really crave a fast paced environment and it may just have been that charity but it was so slow to get anything done plus low salaries and zero opportunity for progression
