I’m considering online KS2 education from September...

...anyone else?

DC will be years 3 and 6. Both are able academically and have struggled with social and behavioural aspects of school, although the older one has improved somewhat this year. But conventional school has never been an easy place for them, despite there being no apparent additional needs.
They have both engaged really well with the online learning their school has provided since March, and both current teachers have commented on their work being of a good standard. From my POV, behaviour at home has been better too, they are so much more relaxed and able to enjoy playing and family time.

I work different hours to DH so childcare isn’t an issue.

Both DH and I are also happy to assist and have degree level education across sciences and humanities, so while not teachers, I feel that we could do a decent job given the support of a ‘proper’ online school.
With the current uncertainty over schooling and likely disruption into the future, I’ve been seriously considering looking at education done entirely online. I know this comes at a cost and would love to know if anyone has any experience of this, any recommendations or pitfalls to consider.
My biggest concern is the potential damage to social skills, but given they may be in and out of school, or part time, or whatever possible solutions come up over the next few weeks and months, I’m thinking this might give some consistency. They both like to know what is going to happen ahead of time and this is probably the only way I can think of giving them that at the moment.

Yes I'm considering it for my DD (10). She doesn't enjoy school but she is missing her friends so I will send her back in September, but I'm fully prepared to home ed if it doesn't work out. Unfortunately my DH doesn't agree at all but I'm confident that putting my child's mental health first is the right thing to do.

We are trying it with one of our y4 children and it has gone well so far.

he says it is 1000x better than what he was getting from school since they closed.

I'm thinking about this for DD which will be starting GCSEs in September. She hates school at the best if times so has lived being at home. But it's more my concern that this will continue for many months and the disruption on her education.

Which online school and resources are you planning on using? I'm only guessing resources like this are going to cost a lot more.

Online schools I looked at cost c£200-£250/mth for KS2 so substantially cheaper than private school.
The pace of work has been quite intense so suits my child who loves learning (and bounces for joy when he gets homework) but wouldn't suit all children
