Where to buy bras for teens?

DD needs new bras and Boob or Bust measures her at a 26DD but says to try a 28C as it's likely to be more widely available.

I have enough trouble for myself trying to get a 28F so envisage similar struggles. Right now we aren't able to go out and try stuff on either.

Can you recommend anywhere that's good for a still growing 13 year old? What about things like bralettes? Would they be okay for non sporty days? She needs support when doing sport but is most comfortable going without when she can. Clearly, she needs something for propriety's sake (changing at school etc). Can she get away with not wearing a proper bra all the time? I can't even remember what they recommend for growing teens? I seem to remember it used to be no underwire? I had no boobs as a teen so wore crop tops anyway.

I don't want to start googling for teenage bras for obvious reasons. I googled chocolate brownies once fgs. I won't tell you how that ended up!

get her to try these. My dd wore them day to day, even though they were advertised as sports bras, since she found them comfortable.

Another vote for the M&S sports bras. My size 6-8 14 y.o. wears them and finds them comfortable (plus she's sporty, so they work for that aspect too).

DD definitely ISN'T sporty! She does archery very willingly but we force her into more cardio based stuff. Comfort is her main factor. She hates anything tight anyway. We are on a jeans hunt too and she rants a lot about the skinny ones. We've found that "girlfriend jeans" are the answer.

They do look great and they have her size too. I've ordered a couple. Fingers crossed!

Thank you Smile

my dd sounds the same as yours, she isn't overly sporty although loves her dance. I know it isn't the point of the thread but has your dd tried skateboarding or rollerskating? It's something my dd enjoys and (skateboarding in particular) is great cardio.

They only have them in white right? I'm not missing another option?

Some slightly more exciting colours would be nice M&S! Or some patterns maybe.

I'm bra shopping atm too and sick of the floral, pink, lacy shtick that all women want apparently. And sports bras predominantly in black or hot pink. Come ON.

I have some of these for example but we need more of this kind of thing and less frilly stuff with a random fricking tiny bow.

they have it in grey too, here, but not in stock in her size

She loves rollerskating. We used to go on a Saturday morning to our local leisure centre. I'm teaching her to unicycle atm.

She has to be a bit careful as she has EDS and her legs are v hypermobile. Her ankles are prone to injury.

I wonder if she'd like to try skateboarding?

My 13 yo had some Lounge bras from Boux Avenue size 28c which were a good fit.

She's currently in the Sainsburys adults soft crop tops. The S size is about a 13 yo size. They do several nice colours.

I have an almost 15 year old who swears by Primark bras - not much good now I know but maybe in the future. She also gets bralettes from Hollister, I watch for the sales and at the minute they're buy one get one half price, they're a touch on the lacy side for me but I'm not one wearing them. She is a totey wee thing, very slight but also athletic, she plays a sport but skinny and slight across the shoulders.

Her younger sister was a New Look underwear fan until about 2 weeks ago Grin. She needed new bras, I couldn't get any anywhere so I bought some from the M&S angel range. Apparently it's the comfiest thing she's ever worn and she's fussy about her underwear, she's much more into comfort than her sister and would be bigger.

The m&s teen bras are the most bizarre sizing ever.

Debenhams are reasonably priced you can get non wired 2 packs that wash and dry well.

Victoria secret pink are lovely however I wouldnt recommend online as it's expensive delivery.

CalIMeLoretta · 01/06/2020 13:16

Handmade ones? One of the small UK based micro businesses like Mardy Bum Boutique, Crease Free Clothing, Hiccups and Juice for example...

handmademitlove · 01/06/2020 13:17

my dd is a 26dd but wears a m&s 30 - their teen bras are not standard sizing - I suggest perhaps just trying a few. or do what I did and get the tape measure out in M&S and measure the band size - they are definitely not as labelled!

Whawhatisaweekend · 01/06/2020 13:20

M&S bras are fab. My first bras were from there and the best bras I own now are from there

ShowOfHands · 01/06/2020 16:34

I've ordered a couple of M&S ones online so I'll see what they're like when I pick them up on Wednesday. I'll take my tape measure and check out the sizes while I'm there.

I'm going to have a look at the other links too.

I really appreciate the help Smile

Well the M&S bras came (and a John Lewis one too) and they do not fit in any conceivable way. The M&S one is so small, it was quite hilarious. The cup size was very wrong.

I think she needs to go to an actual shop. Gah! I had such high hopes. I'm going to have a look in the local Sainsbury on Wednesday.
