Sick on a morning - not pregnant! Help!

I did post this in the coronavirus section but not sure if it was really relevant there. I keep being sick on a morning after waking. Almost like morning sickness but I have the implant and have had a negative pregnancy test. I feel after being sick but don't have an appetite until lunchtime. I'm worried its coronavirus even though I don't have the usual coronavirus symptoms they ask for to get a test - temp/cough/loss of senses.
Could it be anxiety about coronavirus? Or something else entirely? Please help!

Do another two tests op 4 days apart....eliminate pregnancy first as that is most likely...
Coronavirus much, much less so if that is your only symptom..

It seemed to start just after my period ended, would this be likely with pregnancy? With my children (planned pregnancies) I was tracking my periods so knew before my missed period each time.

But yes I agree, i think I'd expect more symptoms with coronavirus. Any ideas what else it could be?

@justasking111 I did wonder about that, I've tried taking a rennie straight after waking up but that didn't help. Any suggestions on how to work out if it's that?

I keep a bottle of gaviscon advance by the bed and take it religiously every night. The aniseed not the peppermint flavour. You can prop up the head of your bed. I would see your gp. if you can mine put me on omeprazole to reduce stomach acid. Try some ranitidine going to bed too that does not need a prescription and see how you get on.

KellyHall · 29/05/2020 22:19

Be careful about what you eat and how late you eat the night before. Try having dinner as early as possible then have only water and herbal tea before bed.

Do you have low blood pressure? I find this can make me sick/dizzy and is often worse in the mornings

kitk · 29/05/2020 23:01

I had this for about a month solid last year. Had a bit of a runny nose but wasn't ill but think the snot was irritating my throat overnight. I was also v anxious at time and once I was sick would feel much better but until I was sick I knew I'd feel ill til I was. You've mentioned covid a few times in your OP and it wouldn't be unreasonable to be anxious about that. I got round mine in the end by changing my morning routine as I always used to be sick before brushing my teeth. I stopped doing that first thing and pottered a bit and was fine then, albeit bad breath later than ideal!

BreasticlesNotTesticles · 29/05/2020 23:19

Do you take any medication? AD's can make me ill.

AriettyHomily · 29/05/2020 23:21

I get this with acid indigestion. It's exactly the same feeling as burny nasty morning sickness. I am now on omeprazole and any other kind of non otc drug when I need it.

Rule out pregnancy though.

Are you eating or drinking anything first thing in the morning? For some reason, drinking tea with milk on an empty stomach in the morning makes me feel very nauseated, though I’m ok with coffee.

The other thing I’ve had for quite long periods is stress-induced gagging, which can be worse first thing, and can sometimes make me throw up. And it can occur when I’m not consciously stressed. I only realise retrospectively — for instance, I don’t think it’s happened more than once or twice since lockdown.

Stonebridge · 30/05/2020 00:52

Nausea is a symptom of carbon monoxide poisoning... although there would have to be an appliance nearby with a flame. Like a gas water heater in the bathroom maybe

TheDropBear · 30/05/2020 01:57

I get really bad nausea in the mornings, it makes me retch and sometimes the retching will bring up some bile (sorry, tmi there).
Mine seems to be linked to vitamin deficiencies as I have monthly B12 injections. If I'm overdue one I get it every morning but if I'm up to date I only tend to get it if I'm very stressed.

Newmum1002 · 30/05/2020 07:34

Thanks for the replies. @TheDropBear yes it seems to be retching that brings up yellow bile rather than sick but I figured that's due to an empty stomach?
I think I'll try and take gaviscon or similar before bed and see if that helps.
