Prickly heat

Feck knows where to post this but I have no after sun and I have really bad prickly heat. I've used moisturiser but I'm still itchy and getting a rash on my arms and chest.

Any advice?

Cold wet flannels. Antihistamines. Bicarbonate of soda diluted in a Cool bath

Yoghurt. Smells though

Fwiw I used to get really bad prickly heat but I found if I use a lighter consistency suncream eg a spray it's much better than a gloopy "sensitive" one. Eucerin is the best imo

Lots and lots of cold water. Wet frozen kitchen towel. Wet and freeze a dressing if it's an area that can be wrapped. Obv dont let it freeze all the way, just enough that it starts to get crunchy and have a thin dry between the ice and your skin.

Keep your moisturiser in the fridge and reapply regularly. Take an antihistamine for the itching. Piriton is good if you have it or even just hay fever tablets.

Thin dry layer that should say.

wont help now but i agree with @morelikeaclubsandwich a light sunscreen works for me, im using garnier UV water and use ladival in the past and both help a lot with prickly heat
my solutions is cold compress and stay out of the sun til its gone

Cold shower. Then cold flannel. No moisturiser it makes it worse if it has any oil in it. Antihistamines as soon as possible.

And unfortunately ultrasun - bloody expensive - is the only sunscreen I don’t get it with. I’ve not had it once since I started using it.

Nellienamechanger · 29/05/2020 21:46

And don’t scratch it!

I found avoiding all waterproof sun cream products worked.

AuditAngel · 29/05/2020 22:04

I find talc helps once you have it, and antihistamines?

Thanks for the replies, only just seen these. I'm still itching all over despite slithering on moisturiser. Gonna go for a cool shower I think. And try and find piriton - I didnt think of that. Hope this works.
