My DM has been admitted to hospital today.
She’s been not too well for weeks, no appetite, sweating buckets, no energy, fever.
She didn’t have a cough but we suspected it could have been covid and have been checking in/ helping out from afar this far.
GP thought infection and gave 2 course of antibiotics, no difference.

Last week GP ordered bloods. The results came back she was anaemia. She went back to GP today and was told to go to hospital as there was an anomaly in her bloods.
She gets confused and panicked and may have omitted bits of the conversation, this is all she remembers.

She has now been admitted to a surgical ARW, and had a CT scan and has been tested for Covid which is negative.
The nurse we spoke to told us that her patient notes were away with my DM at that time (for more tests) so couldn’t tell us more. When we asked if she was being admitted, the nurse said ‘oh yes, she’s being admitted’ so she must know what they are looking at!?

I am freaking out.
What do they think is wrong that they are CT scanning her? What could those symptoms mean?

Any advice gratefully received!

a CT scan is looking for lumps, cysts, ruptures, malformations etc in soft tissue (usually Xrays are for hard tissue) It could be TB with the sweating loads, especially with a fever and cough but Covid negative. But it really could be anything. If you get a chance to talk to her/a nurse ask what kind of blood tests were run - as even without the results that will point you in the direction they were looking at. Also what part of her body did they scan?

Hope you get some answers soon, waiting is the worst bit.

A) they will be keeping her in until they carry out tests as very few are happening as an out patient due to covid.
I suspect they will be looking to rule out infection or malignancy as a cause of her symptoms.
It must be very worrying but she is in the right place. Hope you get answers soon.
