Are climbing frames worth it for only children?

I’ve been looking at Quadro (plastic climbing frame) to occupy dd a bit physically inside during lockdown/summer holidays when we don’t have access to a garden. She’s at the higher end of the age range for it but I really want to get her moving more. But are climbing frames with just climbing bits boring especially for only children?

When I think about when we were little, most climbing frame games involved chasing each other round and racing to the top etc. I don’t really remember playing on one alone.

Would she be bored if I got her one?

Just hoping for some advice because it would be quite a bit of money to us and if she wouldn’t get much out of it, it could be better spent on her!

We had a kit with wheels when I was a child, we used to build all sorts of wagons and go karts, as well as dens with a sheet over the top.

As a climbing frame though, no it got dull pretty quickly, perhaps we didn't have enough pieces, but we could only build a few squares high before things got unstable. Mind you, our garden wasn't that flat which probably didn't help.

I think slides are the best equipment for playing by yourself. Maybe not inside though!

I used to spend a lot of time on my swing, as does my daughter. We have a climbing frame too that only gets used when there’s more than one of them around.

Sorry, swing isn’t relevant for indoors. Missed that bit.

I’m an only and used to love my swing

We had a Quadro climbing frame; it was a bit of a faff to be honest and therefore not used to its full potential. It also took up a fair bit of space. I'd save the money and buy a balance board.

I don't think she would use it much indoors without a slide attatched.

I would get a variety of small equipment that she could use indoors instead, a balance board as previously suggested would be good, maybe a hula hoop and something to get her upper body moving too, such as a
ribbon dancer.

Sorry, swing isn’t relevant for indoors. We have a door frame swing indoors that DS spends a decent amount of time on by himself. One of our better purchases.
