What is living in Llandudno like?

So DH's work may move to permanent home working which would mean we wouldn't be tied to an area of the country. We have loved Llandudno for years but just wondering what it is like to live there? I grew up in a Welsh seaside town so it's not completely alien to me and I long to be back by the sea. I am aware that seaside towns can be bleak in winter.

We have one DS who starts at a Welsh Medium Primary in September, are the Welsh Medium schools in Llandudno any good?

At the weekends we like to be outdoors a lot which North Wales will of course be good for and in bad weather we like soft play, swimming and cinema all of which seem to be available in Llandudno/Llandudno junction.

Any area we should particularly be looking at/any we should be avoiding?

There are Welsh medium primary schools. One in Llandudno I know of and one in Colwyn Bay, I think the one in Penrhyn Bay is mostly Welsh.
Dd went to one that uses Welsh 50/50 and now goes to Welsh medium high school.
Llandudno is heaving in summer, parking is limited and timed and the parking control people are hot on tickets not at the moment obs mostly it's goats right now.
Llandudno is surrounded by lots of nice villages and towns that are much nicer to live in. I like Penrhyn Bay myself as well as Rhos-on-sea.
Or even up the Conwy valley a short way. Like Glan Conwy or Eglwysbach, which has a primary that is also Welsh speaking.
Cinema is in Junction like you say, it's nice.
Swimming is at Llandudno or Colwyn Bay both have pools. C'bay is nicer more like a leasure centre one.
Soft play is in Llandudno, or in Old Colwyn not sure where else.
Outdoors, just past Llanwrst is treetops. and on the other side of the river is Surf Snowdonia.
Lots of nice walks all over the whole area, Horse riding, bike riding, etc all available.
I's a good place to raise kids.

Just realised you say home working, don't go out as far as Eglwysbach they have the worst internet, my friend is always complaining about it. It's as slow as Dial up no matter what they tell you, she's lived in mutiple houses around there and says it's all the same.

Thanks Troels that is all really helpful, will definitely rule out Eglwysbach as we will definitely need decent internet.

Good to know it is a good place to raise kids, where we live now isn't and I really want DS to have more of a childhood like mine, by the sea with lots of outdoor activities :)

Have seen some nice houses on Rightmove on Rhos-on-sea and Penrhyn Bay but will check out Glan Conwy too.

No advice whatsoever... but I would absolutely love to move to Conwy/Llandudno. I don't even find it deary in winter.. we go for a week in a cottage most New year's!

Conwy town is great in winter, we go for walks there when it's cold and sunny and hardly any tourists, so you can park on the street and not fight the crowds. walk the walls and the harbour.
