Where is the best place to live in the uk with kids?

Looking to move and would like others opinions on where theyd like to live or do live?

It was a deal breaker for friends of ours who said that it is very mono ethnic and homogeneous. The DC and DH would have stuck out a mile and been the very obvious in the school photos. I know that on MN a homogenous community is sought after but ....

Yorkshire on the east coast or I’m sure Cornwall or Devon would be amazing if you like the outdoor lifestyle.

We live in a suburb of Manchester, we're very happy here but it's expensive. We pay for the convenience of being near a big city, transport links, lots of facilities, access to professional jobs, excellent schools.

How tied to areas are you by your jobs, or not at all? For me in particular, I could only do my job in a big city. (Until the world changes and we can work 100% remote).

Longer term, I'd love to live in the Lake District or potential somewhere more rural in Yorkshire.

I think there are a lot of people who move because of the children when really they move because they themselves want to live in a certain place. I don’t think the children come into it
