Blind relative in hospital - would someone read a card?

Hi everyone, my grandma is in hospital, she is almost blind and I want to send a card. We obvs can’t visit and my grandpa calls for updates but we don’t overly bug them.
If you work on a ward, would anyone read a card to her - I appreciate it’s hardly a priority :) just wondered if it was worth sending or whether she might be left with a card that she has no idea who it’s from.

Yes, of course! Just write a note on the envelope asking them to.

Yes someone will. I was in hospital a few years ago and there was a blind lady on the ward. She once asked me to read a card for her but said normally one of the student nurses did it for her. We had a lovely student nurse who would plait my hair for me as when I tried to do it, it got tangled up in the IV tube. Dont remember much about the first 2 to 3 days in hospital but do remember this lovely girl brushing and plaiting my hair for me. ( sorry op reminiscing didn't mean to hijack your thread)

Also contact PALS or equivalent and ask what options they have. My gran was in recently with terrible eyesight. We had weeks of not speaking to her. Then someone discovered PALS. They found a range of options including an e-card that we could do online and they would read to her, or speaking using an iPad.
