Is there a hoover attachment to collect dust when opening and sanding cracks in walls?

I guess something cone shaped ... or do I have to invent it myself and make millions!

Don't do this with your normal vacuum cleaner - you could wreck it. Buy a cheap wet and dry canister vac from Screwfix, etc instead.

@wowfudge just curious why you think it would damage a normal vaccum? I use a normal vaccum to hoover up such dirt and dust at the moment when it falls to the floor.

The dust and debris can clog up the machine - filters and motor - and ruin it. For that reason you should hide your vacuum cleaner if you have work done at home so the builders can't use it.

What sort of hoover do you have?
We've attached our Henry to our sander loads of times and it's been fine - we've had it nearly 20 years!

Francina670 · 23/05/2020 16:15

Plaster dust kills vacuums. From experience.

wowfudge · 23/05/2020 16:18

@WillowB - that's a canister vac, they're more robust though I cannot tell you why.

I'm not saying it for the hell of it. If you want to wreck your hoover, knock yourself out.

I would probably use our old Dyson dc05.

I remember my parents laughing that they broke their old dyson doing this. Have no idea why, agree it makes no sense but it will most likely break.

Don't wreck your old Dyson, the new ones are not as good.
