I have DD here who was temping in offices then had we're pretty sure Coronavirus for about 4 weeks. If it wasn't that it was some really awful virus. Obviously she can't work atm but is applying for everything. We're not charging her. DS2 is back home from his apprenticeship. He still has to pay rent on a house where his apprenticeship was. He's still getting paid. He's been helping furloughed DH doing loads of jobs around the house - clearing out the loft and laying floorboards in there, clearing out the garage, sorting out the garden... so we're not charging him anything, either.

Yes and no - she's paying her way - and being my chauffeur quite a lot too. She lived at home anyway, so she's actually contributing more as she is earning more as she has more hours to work

DS is 23 and has been home since he finished his travel and got a job, we used to take £150 off him towards food drink etc but he’s been furloughed so we have reduced it to £75. He’s happy with that and is saving money for more travel when it all over and cos he’s not going out he isn’t spending much.

It will be a cold day in hell before I ask rent from my uni kids.

No I don't expect our Uni student DS to pay rent, he is not earning anything (although looking for a job) but he is careful with his money and has already saved quite a bit from his maintenance loans and previous part time jobs. As soon as he returned home he immediately reminded us not to pay the 'top up' we used to give him to reach the full maintenance amount as he knows I am furloughed and DH had a pay cut. However we don;t 'need' any contribution from him ...... if he had left Uni and was in a full time job then we would expect a contribution towards board and lodging (which we would probably save) .............. the one thing I would appreciate however is keeping his room clean and tidy Grin.
