What do I want for my birthday?

Do you know? Because I don't Confused
Please help me think of something!

It's my 31st next month. I have enough clothes (and just treated myself to a dress to wear in the garden whilst drinking gin/mocktails on my own on the big day Grin).

I do love gin, but we're TTC so reluctant to ask for an abundance of alcohol in case we are lucky enough to get a BFP next month.

Things I already have which often crop up as recommendations:

I have a Philips Lumea, it's fab when I remember to use it

My hairdryer and straighteners are fine. I was thinking about a babyliss big hair but my hair is pretty big if not straightened so it might not work for me?

I have a Eufy robovac which I love. Lazy cleaning is my style, so as much as it feels wrong to get a cleaning item for my birthday, it is essentially the gift of sitting on my arse, so recommendations of that type welcome!

I was thinking about a kindle but most of my books come from the "bring one take one" shelf at work, or charity shops, so I'm not sure it would get a lot of use. I had a basic one about 8 years ago, which was good for one-handed reading when commuting though...

Last year my best present was a hammock see point above about sitting on arse

Other garden furniture like a table for the hammock to keep books and drinks on
Fluffy blanket and pillows for the hammock (so jealous)

People often recommend kindles as being easier to hold than books while feeding a baby. Even the cheapest one now comes with a light, so you can read in the dark, which will be good when you have a baby.

Many books go on offer for 99p, so they cost hardly anything and if you're on maternity leave with your baby, you won't be at work and charity shops are closed due to lockdown.

Just ask for a kindle. Smile Get the cheapest one and some Amazon vouchers to buy books, look out for daily and monthly deals and good luck with having a baby.

Plus enjoy your lockdown birthday in your lovely dress in your garden.

A side table for the hammock is a good shout, I've almost tipped myself out reaching for stuff 😂

Hmmm a kindle does sound like a good idea. Amy recommendations for which type?

I have a kindle paperwhite and love it. Like you, I was a paperback bargain buyer but the kindle is so much easier to take around with me.

It is not just reading while feeding, I also read tons went for walks with Dd and ended on a park bench while she napped. Or coffee shops (when they will open again).

Saying that, check if your library offers a ebook service, most don’t support Kindle but Kobe devises, if the catalogue is big enough it may be worth looking into it. Our library unfortunately has only a tiny catalogue so it wasn’t worth moving from Kindle to Kobe.

Kindles are a lot easier for reading whilst holding a baby! Do you have a Fitbit? I have had a very basic Fitbit for years but just got a versa 2 for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I love it!

Amazon echo is a top favourite of mine. Maybe a posh bath set I'm a big fan of L'Occitane

Ok, a Kindle Paperwhite sounds great and the functionality looks soooo much better than the version I had years ago. Plus, waterproof! I can read in the bath!

I got nice smellies at Christmas and still working my way through those so don't need anything like that.

I haven't got a FitBit, but I've just started doing Couch to 5k and need to lose some weight so that could be a good option too.
Are the more basic versions, like the Fitbit Inspire, ok?

Hmmm... Our library seems to have lots of eBook options but not compatible with Kindle ereaders. Maybe a Kobo would be better?
