Just wondering what method you use or would recommend?

Thanks!

I was in the pill, Dianette for about 10 years for my sumptoms (excess hair). Since having my children, I have had a copper coil, as I wanted something no hormonal.

Curious200 · 20/05/2020 15:58

I have a history of thrombosis in my family and I suffer from migraine aura so I've been told dianette would be dangerous for me to take. Any other suggestions? Is there any other pill that helps with the androgen affect of pcos but doesn't have the risks?

Same as Empress, Dianette until DD2, copper coil ever since.

Hormonal contraception played havoc with my mood, much better without it.

Under treatment, there is a list of contraceptive pills.

I was on Rigevidon for 5 years but didn't know I had PCOS until I came off to TTC

Pre children, combined pill Yasmin for years and years.

Post children, mini pill Cerazette (due to being over 35 and overweight so combined pill no longer suitable).

Curious200 · 20/05/2020 16:17

@itsallopticsanyway how did you find the cerazette did you have any side effects?

@Curious200 I bled almost constantly (not really heavily but enough to wear a pad and no pain) for the first three months. Then it settled. I still have a really light period each month for about 3 days but that's it. Been on it a year.

No other side effects. It's not made my skin any better though, I have to use a lotion from the GP to help that (which does work but stings like holy hell!).

Decided to go with the femcap - diaghram instead. Can pop it in and out and no hormones. Think this will work best for me, well hoping so!
