It's my daughters birthday in June and my family keep asking what to get her I am clueless on what to tell them she already has a dolls pram a play kitchen and a lots of out door toys slide sandpit swing ect all second hand or passed down from other family members!

What does or did your 2-3 year daughter or son enjoy playing with most?
I know every child is different but I would like her to have a gift she will play with and enjoy 🙂
I think there budget is £50 - £70 I appreciate any advice thank you in advance

Scuttlebug? Tee pee?

SnugglySnerd · 19/05/2020 20:25

Megablocks are good for that age, ours were played with so much. Our dcs also love the Leap Frog picnic basket. It's not something I would have thought of but dd1 received it for her first birthday and still plays with it a lot aged 6. Her younger brother and sister love it too. Aged 2 they just liked to tip out the contents, put it back and carry it about but as they have got older they have had numerous teddy tea parties and things with it.

A balance bike or a scuttle bug?

I second a balance bike and also mega blocks. They were both big hits with mine ☺️

I'm having a similar issue as DS is 2 in July and he already has "everything" because he has a 6yo sister who shares or hands it down to him! So toy kitchen and food, prams/dolls, outdoor toys (slide, sandpit), puzzles, books, Play Doh, etc is all stuff we have as well...

DS is mad about vehicles so he'll be getting those, mostly. Also some colouring stuff and maybe stickers, as he's started to enjoy doing that. We might get him some new bath toys, and I was thinking about getting him a scooter because he covets DD's but it's too big for him! He does have a Skuttlebug but struggles with it a bit.

At 2 DD was mainly into Peppa so she got lots of that! She also got a wooden car track and train set, which they share now. Oh, and Aquadoodle!

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 19/05/2020 20:28

Anything peppa for both mine at 2😂
My two year old loves her micro scooter, play dough, aqua doodle and jigsaws are her favorite. She’s just managed to finish 25 piece puzzles this week and is so proud of herself !

Trike?
My kids mostly get savings money tbh
Remote control car
Little tikes car
Train set
Baby trampoline
Dolls house
Balance bike
Play shoo or other thing like that

CoodleMoodle · 19/05/2020 20:30

Oh, and neither of mine liked Megabloks! We've got a big tub of them that were hardly used. DD ignored anything like that until she could do Lego, and DS is already fairly good with his Duplo. He likes the number train, fire engine and the aeroplane, he's probably getting the alphabet truck(?) for his birthday. Maybe the airport as well.

Supermum11 · 19/05/2020 22:00

Thanks guys She has a scuttle bug, and mega blocks she loves her playing with her kitchen and her dolls & teddies feeding them and cutting her play fruit and vegetables but she likes being outside most even when it's cold and wet so what she plays with most is her slide outside she's very independent she has a swing but dosnt want to play on it as it's a baby one so she has to be put into it she loves hey duggee and all animals It's so difficult I would like her to have something that she will enjoy and play with

My DD also got given the picnic basket and loves it, she’s played with it so much. She also loves the smart max animals.

DinosApple · 19/05/2020 22:54

Mine had bouncy horses at that age and loved them. They're like a precursor to a space hopper as the horses legs make it more stable.

ninebiscuits · 19/05/2020 22:58

DS is 2.5 and loves the elc happyland and sainsburys/argos tots town sets. The tots town zoo train is my favourite set!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 19/05/2020 23:02

Mud kitchen for outdoors?

PuntoEBasta · 19/05/2020 23:09

Teepee or other play tent.
Mud kitchen
Dome climbing frame or pikler triangle (bit more expensive but perhaps if a few people wanted to club together).

22WR · 19/05/2020 23:11

Lower end of the budget spectrum but my just turned 3 year old son loves the Usborne Look Inside books. They keep him entertained for ages and we take them everywhere with us. I literally recommend them to everyone with little ones as we love them so much!

Yesthatsme · 19/05/2020 23:15

Aquadoodle
Moluk bilibo - amazing for free play and imagination
Magnet building blocks
Battat toy sorter house with keys
Microscooter

Nat6999 · 19/05/2020 23:35

Contributions towards a good playhouse for outside? A first tablet or something educational?

BackforGood · 19/05/2020 23:41

I remember a remote control car being a favourite at around 2.5 - 3.5

duplo

As she has so much though, what about asking family to get her something for £5 - £20 (so they know she has had things to open and play with) and putting some other cash into savings account for when she does want something - be that a climbing frame or swing or something when she is bigger, or a bike when she is older, or longer term for driving lessons ?

In any other year, then I'd have suggested a season ticket for a local farm park or other local attraction, but I don't suppose they will be open much this season Sad

namechangeonehundred · 19/05/2020 23:52

My best buys at that age were scuttle bug, trike, wooden blocks and duplo and an ice cream cart I think by leap frog.

fandabbydozier · 19/05/2020 23:57

A bubble lawnmower was the best gift when mine were two.
