I have the same problem! No advice I'm afraid. Fortunately I don't drive for a living or it would be a serious problem.

I'm resigned to probably having to take off my glasses in theatres etc and put up with not seeing clearly. Either that, or I'll have to pay for eye surgery to have my lenses replaced with artificial ones!

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 19/05/2020 11:18

There is no solution. I spend all day with fugged up glasses at work and that's with anti fog strips in my masks!

Seeline · 19/05/2020 11:21

I have tried a scarf and a disposable mask, and with both my glasses steamed up really badly. I thought that maybe it would stop after a minute or two like when you come in from the cold, but it didn't. This was only going round the supermarket. I need my glasses to see what I'm buying. I kept having to touch the mask and my glasses to adjust my view. I think I am safer without the mask. I'm literally only going out to the shops anyway.

Effinell · 19/05/2020 11:32

Instead of having your glasses where they normally sit pull your glasses out from your face a little bit. The air can get up and past them then and they don't fog up. *Disclaimer this is based on a huge sample of 2 so may not work for everyone!

allmycats · 19/05/2020 11:33

You could try rubbing a very small of dairy liquid over the inside surface of the lenses with a soft tissue. This is what they used to do in the past in motorsport to stop visors steaming up.

allmycats · 19/05/2020 11:33

Fairy liquid NOT dairy liquid !

MaureenMLove · 19/05/2020 11:34

I don't know if this would work, but when scuba diving, you spit on your mask, then rinse it off and that stops you fogging up under water?

Pretty gross, but anything is worth a shot, right? Grin

Brunelofbrio · 19/05/2020 11:36

I have hear that putting a flexible metal part (like a paper clip?) can help. Then you can mould it around your nose? But I haven’t tried it yet?

AnnaMagnani · 19/05/2020 11:39

Wash your glasses with a bit of fairy liquid. Should last forever.

LittleCandle · 19/05/2020 11:41

A nurse friend of mine posted recently that the thing they find most helpful in this situation is to clean your glasses with shaving foam. Works a treat apparently.

FannyFifer · 19/05/2020 11:42

Shaving foam.

rbe78 · 19/05/2020 11:44

I have made masks following this tutorial, which has a pipe cleaner sewn into the top seam. This allows you to contour it to your face, and with a bit of fiddling I can contour it so my glasses don't fog up.

Also, try breathing out through your nose.

Samcro · 19/05/2020 11:48

@Effinell they are varifocals so the would make it worse I think.

I will try the fairy liquid.
don't have any shaving foam.

missnevermind · 19/05/2020 11:52

Lol. I try to 'breath down'.
I must end up pulling some funny faces but it's OK as I am hiding behind the mask. Grin

Mizydoscape · 19/05/2020 12:02

Disclaimer: I haven't tried this yet but someone suggested tucking a tissue in the top of the mask.

Binglebong · 19/05/2020 12:17

The wire does help.

Deathraystare · 19/05/2020 13:32

Yes i have this all the time and also the mask rides up to my eyes.

Thankfully I do not need one at work, only travelling on the bus/going shopping.

olympicsrock · 19/05/2020 13:50

I’m a surgeon who wears glasses so have had to find a solution to this!
The trick is to mould the mask to your nose ( need a bendy strip sewn in. You use a piece of micropore tape ( or other gentle sticky tape) along the top of the mask to stick in tightly to your face.

It works!

CatBatCat · 19/05/2020 13:54

Sew a pipe cleaner across the top of the mask so you can press it into the ridge of your nose.

Seeline · 19/05/2020 17:22

My mask had a bendy bit, and I'm always washing them with washing up liquid as they get filthy. Still steamed up. Mine are also verifocals so can't really change position. I don't use Fairy Liquid as it strips the skin off my hands - surely other washing up liquids would work? Or maybe it is the skin-stripping ingredient I need to keep my glasses clear 😆

Samcro · 19/05/2020 20:24

Thanks for the tips, i am going to try the washing up liquid first.
