They were like the Mr Men books, and by the same author, but were not nearly so well-known. However, I came across one recently, and I laughed so much. These books contained pearls of wisdom such as:
Roundies like new things. (Looking at the moon)
Squaries like new things. (Holding a new TV)
Roundies have a sense of humour.
Squaries are terribly sensible.
Roundies whistle while they work.
Squaries are too busy working.
Roundies can lose themselves in a book.
Squaries never get lost.
Roundies wear smiles.
Squaries wear gloves and masks. ("masks" added by me)
Roundies like to lie in the sun.
Squaries get hot and bothered.
My personal favourite:
Roundies go out for long walks.
Squaries go in for long faces.
The game is: which ones can you think of for Mumsnetters? Here are some ideas:
Roundies enjoy pegging out the washing.
Squaries worry that it might get darked on.
Roundies plan for the end of lockdown.
Squaries plan for lockdown going on for ever.
Roundies love seeing cats.
Squaries think they should be kept indoors.
Roundies enjoy their daily exercise.
Squaries count their steps, and how many people are ignoring social distancing.
Roundies welcome visitors (even during lockdown).
Squaries never answer the door.
Roundies count the things they will enjoy when normality resumes.
Squaries count the deaths from Covid-19.
Roundies enjoy their supermarket shopping.
Squaries consider carefully if their purchases are essential.
Roundies think about how pretty rainbows are.
Squaries think about who the rainbow belongs to, and if the colours are in the right order.
