They come and go and have happened about once a week since after lockdown started. No trigger. Sudocrem overnight seems to sort them out but it would be great to know what's going on because it seems a trivial thing to take to a GP.

Hi, I just want to say I'm certainly not a medical expert but if you type into Google images 'Kawasaki disease in adults' and look at the images the rash seems to be similar. Might be worth a look.

Wieas · 18/05/2020 18:58

I meant to add it's the images of hands that you want to be looking at.

SpyApp · 18/05/2020 19:05

I've looked and you're right. It does look the same but he has no other symptoms and Sudocrem sees it off. As an experiment I'll suggest just putting it on one hand tonight.

Are they itchy and raised?

maddy68 · 18/05/2020 19:06

As a similar to Kawasaki disease is showing in children with covid. I would seek medical advice rather than mums net :)

SpyApp · 18/05/2020 19:13

Not itchy and not raised. He's an adult so he'll need to make his own arrangements about medical advice. Smile

The rash related to Kawasaki’s was described as being like sunburn so not little dots. Has he been gardening?

Haggisfish · 18/05/2020 19:18

Yes it could be plant sap that reacts in the sun. I’d see go tbh

SpyApp · 18/05/2020 19:28

Yes he's been gardening on and off so it could be that.

Puds11 · 18/05/2020 19:35

Send pics to gp, but I’d be thinking it was from gardening.

Samtsirch · 18/05/2020 19:35

Could it be contact dermatitis due to frequent hand washing ?
Also lots of plants ( spurge etc) can cause a rash like this.

SpyApp · 18/05/2020 19:43

I think sending pics might be a good idea. I'll suggest he does that. Thanks 😊

Looks like it might be pompholyx eczema to me.

bloodywhitecat · 18/05/2020 20:01

I thought pompholyx too but mine itches like buggery

Bluetrews25 · 18/05/2020 20:08

Random thought - does he get hayfever? Has he been handling grass?
Sitting on grass used to give me similar, itchy legs when we had lessons outside in the heat at school. And awful hayfever in the days before decent meds were invented.

SpyApp · 18/05/2020 21:41

Yes his hay fever has been really bad this year. Hmmm. Interesting.

Haggisfish · 18/05/2020 22:58

Does it get better if he takes an antihistamine?

Mintlegs · 18/05/2020 23:02

Could be a general virus

Mintlegs · 18/05/2020 23:02

But you may wish to get checked out especially if other symptoms/unwell

namechangenumber2 · 18/05/2020 23:23

I get pompylyx with my hay fever , itchy little buggers they are Angry

bulletjournalbilly · 18/05/2020 23:40
