SPD has ruined me!

Hi - wasn't sure where to post this!

I had SPD for most of my pregnancy which left me pretty much bed bound for the last six weeks. DS was delivered ten weeks ago via planned c section and I'm still struggling with basic movements, which I expect is down to losing muscle mass when I was barely moving.

The most difficult thing is walking up and down stairs. It feels like I'm lifting weights and I can barely get one leg in front of the other. Does this sound normal?

I'm really keen to start exercising again but I don't know where to start. I'd be really keen to hear of any similar stories and what worked to get your fitness back.

You might be better to have this in pregnancy... I know you've already delivered and congratulations btw Flowers but the ladies over there know their stuff!

OP it sounds like me and to be honest lockdown isn't making recovery any easier but the good news is DS is 6 months and things are much easier than they were. I still sleep with a pillow between my legs and I won't be running a marathon any time soon but I can look after DS and walk around the shops etc. I managed shopping centres fine before lockdown. If you have the money there's people who can help like chiropractors and physiotherapists apparently they "mummy MOT" is good. At £90 for an initial consultation however I just can't afford it but I'm in a lot less pain than I was back where you are.

Thank you both. A mummy MOT sounds good, although I'm guessing I'll need to wait until lockdown eases up.
