Answers on a postcard...

If we forget about the practicalities of work...I'd move to Angelsey or Cornwall.

Magical, unreal places.

TrophyCat · 15/05/2020 10:35

I'd stay exactly where I am. It's my Goldilocks town - not too big, not too small, not too busy, not too quiet. Perfect for the DC whilst they are young, with plenty of activities for them - but it also caters to a large student population so as they get older it won't be too boring for them.

Frownette · 15/05/2020 11:22

I like where I am but would like a city shoved a bit closer

TravellingSpoon · 15/05/2020 11:23

If I could up and move I would.move to Sheffield because I love the city, close to the Peak District.

I am in fact in another city further down the M1, but we are very close to the National Forest so it's okay.

Fenlandmountainrescue · 15/05/2020 13:22

Cambridge. I miss the cows, the flatness, being able to cycle everywhere.

Biscuitbiscuits · 15/05/2020 13:22

@Fenlandmountainrescue When did you last live in Cambridge? I live here now and it's a bloody nightmare!

Megan2018 · 15/05/2020 13:23

Where I am, although a bigger house with land. I live in a very lovely rural area.

Destroyedpeople · 15/05/2020 13:25

London

Destroyedpeople · 15/05/2020 13:26

...because it's international and anonymous but I still just might run into someone I know.

PerfidiousAlbion · 15/05/2020 13:31

If I didnt have to work, Rock (Cornwall), St Andrews (Scotland), Barmouth (Wales).

If I had to work then Bridport (Dorset), Totnes (Devon), Buxton (Derbyshire), anywhere in and around the Cotswolds.

Racheyg · 15/05/2020 13:38

Brighton - but would want a huge house with a garden :)
we live in east London and would miss the city life but also want to live by the sea

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 15/05/2020 13:45

Jersey!

MaccaPacca81 · 15/05/2020 13:48

Currently live in east london and love it. We go out in town a lot. After work drinks, nice dinners, mooching around the markets.

I'd love to live on the coast, Cornwall maybe but I think I'd miss the buzz of the city.

Bertoldbrecht · 15/05/2020 14:13

York, hopefully when ds2 goes to uni, or somewhere in that area of north Yorks, Pickering, Helmsley.
Love my house and the local area. It's on the edge of town so good access to lovely walks etc but the town itself is sadly a depressing dump.

Fenlandmountainrescue · 15/05/2020 14:16

biscuitbisuits a long time ago. Are there no cows and bikes now? Is it on a mountain?

ChangeThePassword · 15/05/2020 14:16

Happy where I am, just outside Edinburgh. No desire to go anywhere else.

AnnPerkins · 15/05/2020 14:19

At some point in my life I would like to live in London and also somewhere by the sea; Pembrokeshire or Cornwall.

I'm 51 though so I'd better get a move on.

AgeLikeWine · 15/05/2020 14:24

I’m fortunate to live where I do, which is a very nice village in the Leicestershire countryside. The only downside is that I am as far from the coast as it is possible to be in these islands, so I would’ve to live in a beautiful spot on the south-west coast at some point.

lazylinguist · 15/05/2020 14:24

Same here. I'm in Cumbria. I'd also like to live somewhere near proper beachy seaside (maybe Pembrokeshire or Devon).

motorcyclenumptiness · 15/05/2020 14:25

Holland Park for its proximity to greenery, the city and job opportunities

transformandriseup · 15/05/2020 14:30

I have only ever lived in Cornwall and didn't go away for uni so I can't say where I would like to live. Once I am retired I am happy to be mega cut off so maybe the Isles of Scilly.

FuckYouCovid · 15/05/2020 14:31

I live (born and bred) in London. I like it here and its home.

If i had to move somewhere else it would be somewhere along the NW of Scotland. I could never be bored of those views.

Biscuitbiscuits · 15/05/2020 14:37

No the cows and bikes are still here, it's just so hideously crowded now for such a small town that most people I know now avoid the centre.

You can't cycle about without having to swerve mosh pits of coach trippers/drunk students swerving about/tourists on ofo bikes trying to film while they ride. All parking is now permit only so you have to pay £30 a day to park near town. I find it so stressful living here now and working in town, the pavements are crowded and there are so many homeless people now that it feels sad.

But hey, upside of covid is that the tourists have all buggered off! Hopefully it'll stay a bit quieter.

I'd love to move to Bristol. It feels so spacious and open in comparison and I love the friendly vibe there.

Rockster7 · 15/05/2020 14:53

Bude in Cornwall for me. Just love that coastline and those beaches. Very sad can't even visit right now

AnnaNimmity · 15/05/2020 14:59

I love London and would miss it if I moved I think. But am slightly hankering after a bigger house, more space and the sea on my doorstep. I'm thinking Hampshire or Dorset. Maybe Sussex. I want to sail, and cycle and yomp around the countryside with my dogs, potter in my garden, paint and listen to classical music in my amazing house. I also love living in the big city. Me and ds were talking about this today - he wants to leave London
