Why can’t I sleep anymore?

I have literally been awake all night long. For the last two weeks I’ve had real issues falling asleep but last night was by far the worst.

Is anyone else experiencing similar? I normally sleep well and I’m completely hopeless without good sleep. I get so very stressed and panicked lying there counting the hours. How can I possibly have not slept all night???

I read for a while. I opened the window. Closed the window. Tossed and turned and it’s now nearly 7am and time to get up!

I’m a teacher working from home so although my routine has changed, I am still working and busy during the day. I am also attempting to home school 2 primary school kids. I’m exercising and getting outside.

It’s just so horrible. I’ve tried Nytol which worked well for a couple of nights but not anymore.

It’s a very recent thing but I’m struggling to cope. Has anyone experienced similar and has any advice?

No advice, but sympathy aplenty.
I haven't slept at all well recently and was wide awake all last night thanks to a snoring husband. I seethed until 2.30 and then came downstairs for a cuppa. Had a lovely frosty walk with the dogs at 5.30 but I'm ready to go to bed now.
I'm seriously considering moving into the box room so I can get a good nights sleep. I get migraines if I don't get enough sleep, so guess what I've got to look forward to later.
Might give Nytol a try and have also got a lavender pillow spray.
Good luck today with work and homeschooling, OP.

Thank you bind. My husband snores too but has been sleeping in the spare room because of his ridiculous shift patterns. He’s up at 1.30am for work and I lie there thinking, he’ll be up any minute now. He’s not even loud but I just keep expecting him to wake me up which makes it harder to fall asleep.

Your frosty walk sounds a lot calmer than my panicked tossing and turning!

I find switching the psycology to a more positive thought, "Oh good I still have 5/4/3/2/1 hours to sleep" helps by taking the stress out of it.

Thanks Bog. I did try not panicking by thinking, I still have a good few hours. I gave up in defeat when it got to 6am and I was still wide awake!
