Eat it yes or no?
Apparently banana bread only keeps for 2 days but it looks and smells ok to me.

Mine only gets binned if it turns green, which can happen alarmingly quickly!

Only 2 days??? I make huge ones that we eat over the following week!

WhyNotMe40 · 11/05/2020 17:00

I didn't refrigerate it though...

Green? ! Shock How quickly...?

Thanks. My anxiety is sky high at the moment and just finding any old thing to fixate on....

I don’t refrigerate mine. Should I be refrigerating mine?!

Though it doesn’t tend to last three days around here the bunch of gannets

TheThingWithFeathers · 11/05/2020 17:22

I just keep mine in a tin and it usually keeps for about a week.

Ninkanink · 11/05/2020 17:24

Of course it’s fine. It’s not that it only keeps that long, it’s that it might not be optimum ‘crumb’ or texture or whatever. It’s still perfectly fine for days after. We usually eat ours within 5 or 6 days, and I don’t refrigerate it.

WhyNotMe40 · 11/05/2020 17:25

Mine doesn't normally last 2 days either, which was why I was unsure - so googled - and found out you are supposed to refrigerate it!

This is what I hate about my anxiety. Things that I wouldn't normally think twice about have me in a panic - feel sick, racing heart, cant breathe.
Anxiety is just rubbish.

Thanks everyone

I made one on Friday and DH just finished it today. He appears to still be alive.

BarbaraofSeville · 11/05/2020 19:23

It's most likely to go mouldy on the outside first so if there's no mould, it's fine. It's probably also safe to pick any bits of mould off and eat the rest. It might also go stale.

But in any case, it's unlikely to become dangerous without going unpleasantly mouldy or stale, so if it tastes OK, it is OK.

Onky keeps for 2 days? Keep in the fridge?

Am I the only person who didnt know this?
