Mine is Hugo Boss. Ex boyfriend wore it. Tried to break up with him before we both went to uni, but he begged and cried so I agreed to give a LDR a go. 3 weeks later he slept with a girl in the flat above in halls. The scent still makes me angry!!

CKOne - I wore it to sixth form having worked the whole summer in McDonalds and having money to spend!

Issey Miyake reminds me of my first serious boyfriend as he bought it for me and it brings a lot of memories and feelings rushing back.

Coco Mademoiselle Chanel takes me back to my early 20s. Sitting dolled up on a tube, wearing a gold strappy top at 11pm ready for my night to start, swigging from a mini bottle of bubbly.

My nights now end at 10pm...

Charlie from the early 70s and Aramis on my then boyfriend

Chanel No5 for my mum too - specific memories of her coming into my room to say goodnight all dressed up and going out with my dad for the evening when I was a little girl.

Also Laura Mercier Tarte au Citroen which I bought specifically for my wedding day so I would have a scent memory.

Tommy Girl is university and being young and on the cusp of adult life.

I adore memories evoked from smell.

Willowmartha1 · 11/05/2020 14:32

White linen perfume my sister wore it religiously but we lost her four years ago so I find it hard to smell it now.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 11/05/2020 14:36

Chanel Allure Homme Sport - it was what DH wore and every time I smell it it reminds me of him. If I'm feeling lonely I spray a bit on my wrist.

fairycrossthemersey · 11/05/2020 14:37

The first time I went into a Hollister shop I got a whiff of whatever scent they used in there and felt instantly happy and calm.

Problem is though, I have never been able to pinpoint the actual memory, just loved the feeling of bliss it evoked. Weird.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. It reminds me of my beautiful friend who loved to wear it, she committed suicide when we were both in our twenties due to manic depression. She was such a lovely person inside and out and I still miss her so much 15 years after she died. I have a bottle of Coco and whenever I wear it I think of her.

SingleHandSue · 11/05/2020 14:46

Cabotine de gres reminds me of my goth years and nights out in the Wolverhampton and Birmingham rock clubs of my youth.

SJP Lovely reminds me of my mum who died 5 years ago. I still have 2 full bottles of hers in a box. I only have to sniff the bottle and so many memories flood back.

TheFormidableMrsC · 11/05/2020 14:49

Opium instantly makes the hairs on my arms stand up because it's as if my late Mum has walked into the room....

TheChosenTwo · 11/05/2020 15:00

Ralph Lauren romance - takes me back to being 15 and snogging and groping my boyfriend in the bushes behind school during our lunch break Grin

HotSince82 · 11/05/2020 18:42

Champagne by Yves Saint Lauremt immediately takes me back to my childhood, it is my mums signature scent. On the occsions she wears it now I can vividly recall bits of my childhood.

The original Polo aftershave in the green bottle...1st boyfriend 😍

I had a gorgeous perfume for Christmas 1990. It was from Next, it had a tortoiseshell lid and I loved it, don't know what it was called but I got through bottles. Next...if anyone is reading I wish you'd bring it back.

WingingItSince1973 · 11/05/2020 18:52

Chloe Narcisse reminds me of my days living in Cambridge 20 odd years ago. Good times 🥰

Peonyinbloom · 11/05/2020 18:55

Cow parsley, especially after rain.
Takes me back to rural Ireland, at my granny’s farm, walking the lanes with cousins. Innocent days, and such freedom.
I love it.

Gingaaarghpussy · 11/05/2020 19:02

Lily of the valley. Reminds me of my paternal grandma. She died when I was 16 and she was a few days off her 78th birthday. I can remember more about being with my grandma than I can with any other family member.

sleepyhead · 11/05/2020 19:02

Lulu. Going out on the town dressed in my dad's dinner jacket, a pelmet, opaque purple tights and DMs in 1989/90.

I'd spilled a miniature of Lulu in the pocket of said jacket - you can still just about smell it til this day Grin

Happy, happy days.

Sewingbea · 11/05/2020 19:05

Acqua do Gio, a whiff of that takes me back to the first summer when I was living abroad and my flat with lots of trees outside and the sun on the leaves. And being in love and feeling everything that summer so intensely. Very happily married now, and have been for nearly twenty years, (not to that boyfriend) but I could never wear that perfume again, far too evocative.
And Anaïs Anaïs which my wonderful and much missed Granny wore.

MrsAvocet · 11/05/2020 19:48

Anais Anais and Poison both instantly return me to the 1980s - sixth form and then student life.

LER83 · 11/05/2020 20:00

Nina Ricci les belles. Used to wear it when I was a child, I can still remember buying a bottle in a little perfume shop in Menorca! Have managed to find a Next perfume that smells similar - it's now my 'everyday' perfume!

Ninkanink · 11/05/2020 20:02

White Diamonds. My grandmother’s signature scent. If I ever come across the fragrance I’m instantly back with her. Many happy memories.
