2 weeks ago I had a psychotic/suicidal episode. I've been under the care of the crisis team and was initially signed off for 2 weeks. This has now been extended for a further 4 weeks late thursday afternoon but I havent had the doctors note through yet.

I emailed on Friday (completely forgot it was a bankholiday) to say I'd been signed off another 4 weeks and I'd send the note when I got it. The email hasn't been replied to - which is usual. Or it hasn't been read which is my fear.

I'm terrified about them calling me in the morning. It sounds ridiculous but my work place was identified as one if the triggering factors (stress and bullying). I'm tempted just to turn my phone off and just reply to any emails but that will make things worse I suppose.

If it makes a difference I dont think I'm going back after these 4 weeks. I'm sat here making myself ill again thinking about it.

Switch your phone off; you are unwell and the line should cover the admin:reporting side of things.

Hope you continue to feel better.

Send a second email now. Let them know that the team supporting you have advised that contact with work may be a trigger and should be kept to a minimum, also that in order to manage this it is best that all communication is via email. Ask them to confirm receipt of the email by email. Then don’t answer any calls from them unless agreed in advance.

Will that not look a bit mad this time of night? I could send it early in the morning though.
They dont know the degree of what's happened the doctors not just says 'depressive disorder' (my lovely GP asked how much detail she wanted me to go into)

Sorry I didn’t reply. I wouldn’t find it odd, but then I have an understanding of depression. Plus you aren’t going back anyway so why worry?
I was suggesting you send it then so you could put it out your mind knowing that they had your reason for not answering in advance and could hopefully sleep!
Hope this morning went ok, with no unwanted phone calls!
