Lollypop4 · 10/05/2020 15:47

My 4 children wont be returning to school until pubs re-open!
If the gvt wont let 30 adults in a roon who can socially distance, then they wont be putting my children in a room , who cant socially distance...

And if it came to fines for not sending them to school, They cant fine us as they closed our family pub, our only income!
Whats your view?

That’s nice 🙄

Sounds like you need to get job searching if you’ve no income

Howshouldibehave · 10/05/2020 15:53

I completely agree.

You're not very bright is my view.

Children getting an education, vulnerable children who don't have good home lives getting some respite from it, and children in poverty getting a chance to get at least one hot meal in a day is a bit more important than people being able to go for a pint. Lockdown will probably be eased in stages, with the more important stuff being prioritised.

Education is important.
Social skills and development in forming mentally healthy children (for life) is important.
Children are a very low risk age groupin the absence of underlying health conditions.
I will send my children back to school when it is avaliable to them because there is more to their long term health and well being than preventing transmission of a virus.
My autistic child does not need aggrophobia, fears of school or other people. Life has enough challenges for him. I need to keep his life as normal, calm and in perspective as possible or there is a very high chance that he will carry that mental damage for years or even life. Yes, we are taking reasonable precautions such as giving people 2m, but making up our own precautions are far more likely to do harm than good.

I will look carefully before I walk them across the road because RTAs are a major cause of death and serious injury for 5-14 year olds. I will not avoid crossing roads forever to eliminate that risk.

My husband owns a bar, so i get where you are coming from. I have one happier at home and one missing school and friends, I wait to see what actually happens.

One of mine has asthma, so we need to check the guidance for her.

Well mine will be back at school as soon as they open the doors. The risk to their physical health is miniscule, the risk to their current mental health and future financial and social health is absolutely my main concern!

Devlesko · 10/05/2020 17:59

You don't need a school to educate your children.
People want their kids back at school for childcare, make no bones about it.
