As my neighbours on my estate are all sat together having a VE party?! Granted it’s a day to celebrate but sitting in a circle ( each 0.5m apart) chatting away, booze flowing!

www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do

  1. When am I allowed to leave the house?
You should only leave or be away from your home for very limited purposes:

one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household

More than once a day is bending the rules, surely?

sociallydistained · 08/05/2020 21:28

Street parties all around here and no social distancing so you you wouldn't think so!

Greentea93 · 08/05/2020 21:30

Come on people, government hasn’t said anything about we can exercise more than once. Always been once and if you check gov ik website current info is same. Do no you can’t walk your dogs three times a day or have a run, walk to ship and walk your dog in same day like my neighbours

Apparently not around here. Sure, come in for one ice cream, insist on paying cash when we’re trying to take card payments only, spend 10 minutes picking up various items and buying nothing in the end.

Best of all, don’t use the sanitiser and gloves we provide, do complain about far too many people being out, then do proceed to have a picnic on the nearby benches. For an hour. And leave your rubbish so I get to pick up your coffee cups and ice lolly sticks. Cos, you know, I’m just a shop assistant, but clearly have immunity super powers.

And breathe. Sorry for the rant, I can’t say it in RL.

Bollss · 08/05/2020 21:35

And what do you think the increased risk if of walking your dog thrice?

Are they walking it and licking every passer by!

Keepitup · 08/05/2020 21:40

I'm not saying there's an increase risk of walking a dog thrice but it's not what we've been asked to do, is it? That means you're out two occasions more than you should be and, if everyone did that, particularly in a built up area you are going to be passing more people than you necessary.

Greentea93 · 08/05/2020 21:42

@ TrustTheGeneGenie oh you’re the funny one on here. No of course not but if all dog owners decided to walk their dogs three times etc than it all becomes abit overcrowded. I live in a quiet area but everyone is suddenly into running, cycling etc and impossible to avoid people.

@Keepitup well said 👏🏼

Funny?

If you're keeping 2m away from people who is it more of a risk?

Of course everyone's taken up running because they're probably going out of their minds locked up at home.

Would you rather they stayed in and their mental health took a downturn?

rosecreakybex · 08/05/2020 21:46

One "form" of exercise. Walking is one form of exercise. The number of times you do it isn't mentioned anywhere

firstimemamma · 08/05/2020 21:46

As I understand it 'lockdown' has changed to 'do whatever you like and it's all ok as long as you clap on Thursday'. Lots of people are being selfish and socialising because they feel like it now.

vanillandhoney · 08/05/2020 21:49

What you linked to is guidance only.

There are no legal restrictions on the number of times you can go out each day.

Greentea93 · 08/05/2020 21:49

Around here people don’t seem to give you two meters anymore. And I’ve got nothing against runners or new runners but again if you’ve just taken up running, at least give some space rather than panting and wheezing with no social distancing in mind at all

Greentea93 · 08/05/2020 21:51

@firstimemamma so true!

Littlebearstrousers · 08/05/2020 21:52

Nobody is going to die because someone walked their dog three times a day. Seriously.

Unless said dog walker gets hit by a car or something.

MissEliza · 08/05/2020 21:53

@Ilets 😂😂😂. Actually maybe it's not that funny ....

Clemmieandareallybigbunfight · 08/05/2020 21:54

People have reached their limit. They don't believe lockdown is saving them and with 33,000 deaths, an economy that's absolutely buggered and no direction at all from the government I can see why.

TemoraryUsername · 08/05/2020 21:54

My elderly neighbours all gathered in one garden today. I'm pretty angry at them - two had the ambulance out this week, one of whom had a temperature and was told to isolate for 2 weeks, another has COPD and another a recent cancer treatment. All in one garden sitting much less than 2m apart. Couldn't make it up! Hmm

Keepitup · 08/05/2020 21:55

I did say "what we've been asked to do" not that we are legally required to do it.

Some people are always going to interpret (or bend) the guidelines to fit their requirements and argue it away.

Choctimeout · 08/05/2020 21:55

Ooo are you on my street?

About 50 strong here, blaring mobile dj (he lives a few doors down) karaoke and no social distancing at all!

We are shielding but they keep waving at me to join them. Dh and I are just doing the 'smile and wave boys, smile and wave'.

couchlover · 08/05/2020 21:56

We have had kids out playing together all day and the adults say out together. Some people think the rules don't apply to them.

limeandlemonade · 08/05/2020 22:09

I also see a lot of crowds for Ramadan celebrations that's not being dispersed.
Celebrations for today, street parties of adults keeping the distance and kids on bouncy castles together.
Lockdown hall pass?

LastTrainEast · 08/05/2020 22:15

Some celebrating here, but no one I'd miss if they managed to infect each other.
